I got my tungsten 2p from sunny sports recently because of the price. No issues here. Great little tent.
r/backpacking • Marmot Tungsten 1P opinions? ->I’m on my second 2P, only bc first was replaced under warranty. There is very little lb difference between 1P and 2P, so unless you want to stay in a tight 1P, upsize to the 2P. It’s perfect for me and my pack, although it has 2 vestibules too.
r/backpacking • Marmot Tungsten 1P opinions? ->My recommendation as a life scout having been in an active scout troop for 5 years is the Marmot tungsten 2p. It has plenty of room, is easy to set up, and is nearly bullet proof. I have had the 3p version for 4 years with no issues. The tent can be used 4-seasons out of the year, and is light enough to take on backpacking trips. You shouldn’t have to buy your scout another tent in his duration in scouting(provided they take proper care of it)
r/BSA • New scout tent recommendations ->I like my Marmot Tungsten 2p
r/backpacking • high quality 2 person tent recommendations?? ->Great choice. I’m on my second Marmot Tungsten 2 person. It’s not ultra light, though. My first one went through some crazy rainstorms, always kept everything dry. The glue on the seams really disintegrating, but still waterproof. I got a great deal on a new one, so picked it up
r/camping • Condensation problem ->Yes, I’m not a backpacker, more of a car camper, and do day hikes. It’s really a perfect little tent.
r/camping • Condensation problem ->We have a Marmot Tungsten 2 person tent and it’s an excellent tent. Fits two people comfortably, can be put up easily, even by one person. Stays dry. It’s lightweight and durable. We just camped in the rain in the Blue Ridge mountains and stayed dry. Comes with a footprint. Two doors and vestibules and it’s relatively roomy. Honestly you can’t go wrong. If you’re wanting a 3 person tent because you’re afraid a 2 person tent is too small, that’s not really the case here. A 3 person might be too bulky for backpacking anyway.
r/CampingandHiking • Best Backpacking Tent ->My husband and I have a Tungsten 2p and we love it! Spacious enough for both of us (I’m 5’2” and he’s 6’2”…still enough room even with me being pregnant…we’re both of average build otherwise). Honestly I see people recommending a 3 person tent for two people…to me it’s not necessary and plus a 2p gives you more options: smaller and lighter for if you want to go any backpacking! As far as storage space for your stuff, that’s what the vestibules are for (unless you’re worried about moisture then keep it inside). It’s a high quality tent. I love the two doors/two vestibules and it holds up very well in wet weather. It’s also easy to put up!
r/CampingandHiking • Novice looking for advice about tents. ->I just bought the Marmot Tungsten 2P for $175 from a store with a name that closely rhymes with “Rick’s Sporting Goods.”For some reason, Reddit won’t let me use the real name. I love the tent. It fits a double pad for me and my large dog. I can sit up in it. He can stand up in it.
r/camping • Looking for a 2P tent less than $250 that'll mostly be used for car camping ->The cheapest tent I’d feel comfortable using would be something like a Marmot Tungsten 2, which is a surprisingly decent tent for the price.
r/camping • What’s the best budget tent? ->Good call, the Marmot Tungsten tents are shockingly good value for the money. I did quite a few trips with my old Tungsten 2 and had nothing but good things to say about it. I love that they include a footprint with the tent too, wish more brands did that.
r/WildernessBackpacking • Suggestions for a backpacking tent that is a reasonable weight but isn't "Ultralight"? ->I have a 3P one door big Agnes that is plenty big but only has one door. It’s light and holds two wide sleeping mats. I’ve had it for at least ten years and thanks to the footprint it is still in great shape. I wish it had a second door though. I have an MSR semi free standing 2P Freelite. It has two doors and packs super light and pretty small. It’s luxurious for one person but two would be a little tight. With two it needs standard width sleeping pads. For a slight weight penalty I have a Marmot lightweight 2P two door. It’s the most comfortable but a bit heavier. Maybe the limelight? The big Agnes or the Limelight are my preferred with a partner and the MSR when solo or when partnered for long trips. If I were to buy new now and only have one, I’d probably do the Marmot Super Alloy semi free standing (similar to the MSR but a bit more room I think) or a Big Agnes two door lightweight model like the Tiger Wall or Copper Spur. Which of these last two is lighter.
r/CampingGear • Backpacking tent recommendations? ->Must haves (I’ve passed over and returned tents for these) Poles that clip instead of slide into sleeves. Makes setup/takedown super fast and easy. High Quality zippers/fabric/hardware Full rain fly with vestibule for shoes. Double doors. Good ventilation and plenty of mesh. Available oem Footprint Nice to haves: (Increase comfort and usability but aren’t total dealbreakers) Headroom is important to my family, but not a big deal for me personally. Straight walls which keep the interior feeling open. These two hit all those marks for me: Mountain hardwear Mineral king https://www.mountainhardwear.com/p/mineral-king-3-tent-2102591.html Marmot tungsten https://www.marmot.com/equipment/tents/4-person/tungsten-4-person-tent/SP_1031644.html
r/CampingGear • What do you personally look for in a car camping tent? ->Marmot Tungsten, Naturehike Mongar 2p, Big Agnes Copper Spur, Durston X-Dome... Lots of great options out there. Get a tent with a mesh body, not a solid body, for summer. The Sundomes is a good tent but gets hot and doesn't air out as well as a higher grade shelter since it has mostly solid walls.
r/CampingGear • Small tent that can handle lots of rain ->I really love my Mormot Tungsten. It is a little heavier than some of the other Recs but is roomy and has withstood some intense PNW rain. It also comes in an ultra light version (I don’t think it’s actually ultralight, but it is lighter than the OG version). Don’t pay full price for it though, Marmot tents are on sale all the time. I don’t like the zipper geometry on the MSR elixir and hubba for heavy rain and damp/dew- it’s meant so you don’t have to reach so far out into the vestibule to open your fly, but i find it means the zipper can drip into your tent through the open door.
r/backpacking • Does anyone have 2 person Tent recommendations? ->Is that the new Marmot Tungsten?
r/CampingandHiking • Our cozy tent setup. ->How do you like it? I have the version from about 10 years ago. Does yours have that random wing added?
r/CampingandHiking • Our cozy tent setup. ->I bought a Marmot Tungsten years ago….Definitely aesthetically pleasing, great quality, easy set up. I just wish I got the 4-person instead of the 3.
r/camping • Looking for a functional, but aesthetically pleasing, tent. ->Both of these tents are really huge for solo camping. I have the Snow Peak Alpha Breeze and I love it for me, my partner, and our dog. However, it’s a little more challenging to set up alone than other tents due to the heavy metal poles and the old school pin design (where you hook the poles into the tent body). You absolutely need a second person to help. The other tent you listed would be easier to set up alone. I would recommend looking at a 2 or 3 person tent instead for a solo camping experience. Both are plenty big if you have a partner or kid with you, and it would be much cheaper. If you become an REI member, you can get in on the Labor Day sales and then also have the option to return the tent if you decide it’s not working out. I really like the Marmot Tungsten for a spacious 3 person that’s also super simple to set up alone.
r/CampingGear • help! purchasing first tent this weekend - snow peak alpha breeze or eureka space camp 6? ->I own Kelty, North Face and Marmot backpacking tents, and can attest to their durability, ease of use and agreeable weight. I've used them both in the backcountry as well as when going car camping.
r/CampingGear • What brands or types of tents should I be looking to get? ->I'd add marmot to that list too for the 3-season and backup the canvas with stove for freezing weather.
r/CampingGear • What brands or types of tents should I be looking to get? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
