Family of 4 here running a mountain hardware bridger six (bought on sale for <300) mega mat double (for mom plus toddle), single (for older kid) and an nrs snooze pad for me. We river raft camp so our gear choices are colored by that. The exped mats are super comfortablew with the foam layer on top but don't really self inflate. You really need to pumpt them up. The nrs is almost as comfortable, actually self inflates and can be flat out abused (we also use it as a raft seat, picknick seat etc). We use a mix of home down quilts and bacpackign bags depending on temperature.
I think I found the tent deal on this subreddit originally...it a massive tent and can be hard to find a spot for but has served us well. There are a bunch of similar durable pads made of whitewater raft material for river user (the original jacks plastic welding paco pad, aire landing pad) though the nrs is nice in that its urethane coated vs pvc. The expeds are also excellent though...just require more time and care to use. And i've heard the rei camp dreamer is very similar if cost is an issue.
