I bought the msr habiscape 4 for the sole purpose of being able to fully stand up inside the tent when car camping. I’m just a touch under 6ft and the specs say the center is 6 ft tall. Your head might touch being a bit taller than me, but the headroom is pretty spacious throughout most of the middle of the tent. Be aware though, it’s not great in the wind if it’s not guyed out. I’m in the Rockies so 20-40 mph wind is very normal, if you’re located somewhere else it might not be noticeable. My backpacking tent is a portal 2 and that thing is a rock solid in the wind, I don’t even notice the wind until the fly flaps a bit around 30mph. So my idea of terrible in the wind might be a bit biased. I doubt it’s any worse than the tents you mentioned. The front vestibule is kind of annoying though. It’s long and you have to basically kneel down to get it closed from the inside. I just use the smaller, rear door and keep the front for storage.
r/CampingGear • Spacious car camping tent recommendations for one person ->Just bought the MSR Habiscape. Expensive and hard to find but looks incredible.
r/CampingGear • Recommendations for a car camping tent for two people that you can stand up in. $500 budget. ->MSR Habiscape. Been using one for a few years ands it’s solid in all conditions. Plus it has plenty of vestibule space. And really handy pass through pockets.
r/CampingGear • Looking for a new tough car camping tent ->My MSR Habiscape is dead simple.
r/CampingGear • Standing height tent: which is easiest to set up: hub, instant, or clip pole? ->I'd just put a tarp overhead. Alternatively, I've been in ridiculous thunderstorms for days in my Eureka El Capitan and my MSR Habiscape and never a drop inside.
r/camping • I need a tent that can handle some rain. ->The MSR Habbiscape is solid. And unlike the Nemo Highrise and TNF Wawona it has a full coverage rainfly.
r/CampingGear • Habiscape Lounge 6p? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
