The Naturehike Cloud UP 10D Ultralight or if you can find it the Naturehike Cloud Trace 10D. 1 kg freestanding tent for around 160

Naturehike Cloud Up 10D. It's a double wall tent under 1kg / 2.2 lbs and is/was available for $160. Fits into a 9liter handle bar roll with space for a thin jacket left. Do not confuse it with the worse similar looking Cloud Wing 10D. That one traps bugs in its single wall flaps which makes packing it down annoying. https://preview.redd.it/7j5v55xf24te1.jpeg?width=800&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=1c88852d7b95d77caf08aa891e55124bb7dbc0f1

r/UltralightNaturehike Mongar tent - new model or last year’s?

I used the Cloud Wing 10D and the Cloud Up 15D both fabrics are fine. I prefer the 10D. So get the 15D Mongar.

I had the similar Cloud Wing 10D with the same fabric as the Cloud UP 10D and i loved it. Now I own the Cloud Up 15D in grey because an airline lost my baggage with the cloud wing lol. What sucked with the Cloud Wing: - The 10D fabric is quite delicate and the stuff sack in the same 10D fabric ripped quite early on when taking out the tent. - The cloud wing's 1.5 wall design sucked as it trapped bugs in it's side wing. - When the fabric gets wet the fabric sags and you should use the guy lines. ⠀ What I liked - The fabric feels amazing to touch - Big tent for just 1kg - Waterproof, kept me dry - packs so small - the color combo, that translucent white and yellow made me feel in a good mood to start the day - Sun wakes you up because of the translucent fabric. ⠀ So my advice to you is to use the gui lines and buy better tent stakes.

I Recommend Naturehike , some of theirs ultralight tents they are great. Have 1p cloud up 15d version is abou 1.2 kg. But few weeks ago i bought 2p Cloud up 2 10d and thats abou 1.17 kg without floor. Its cost me 160 €. Naturehike have amazing tents. And theres one new ultralight model too Star river ext 10d version , its about 1.35 kg but its have two vestibules and cost about 200€ or 280€ . My friend bought it its look nice.

I understand your budget constraints and reasonings …but hear me out… Bump your budget $50 or so and get a decent freestanding 2P with all the fixin’s from NatureHike (Amazon). They are a great budget option: durable, lighter weight backpacking tent models, well thought out features (because, let’s be real, they copy existing manuf/models that have been rigorously tested already), and can function both for backpacking or an extra car camping setup.

We picked up a 2p Nature hike tents off of Amazon and it was the happy medium you're looking for. It has quickly become our favourite tent. The poles are super easy and intuitive to put together. The tent is durable and has plenty of space too!

Naturehike tents have been my festival or car camping tents for years but the 2p ones make half decent trekking tents too. They’re made in China so it’s not weird to order them from Temu. Personally I got mine from AliExpress and they are higher quality, and thus more likely to last, compared to other similarly priced tents. I think buying one is more environmentally friendly in this way. The most environmentally friendly tent is a secondhand tent but the next best thing is one that will not immediately become landfill.

I have a nature hike 6 person mastiff for when my boys and when I go I use 2 person Nature hike. Have a wood stove and metal pipes. Feel safe. Might want to invest in a saw or a mini chain saw.

Will depend exactly what you're comfortable with, and how much gear you have, but the Naturehike 2 person tents are pretty much big enough to actually fit two people. Vestibules are substantial. I mention this because I belive they are in stock online (in the UK at least). The Star River is probably better for cold than the Mongar. Very similar design but less mesh in the inner.

I’ve got the two man nature hike and it’s great, did Lands End > John O’Groats in it and had no issues.
