Check out the Mongar 2 pro. RRP is 170 but it's new - hopefully will start seeing reductions soon. Don't get the previous version if you want 3 season use. Cloud up 2 is cheaper, but I think the Mongar 2 pro is worth the extra if you can stretch the budget.

Yea I got the brown. That's the one. I've only spent a couple of nights in it, it's VERY good for the money, but it definitely doesn't feel premium (as it shouldn't) in all aspects. Just to be clear, it's not some miracle product heh Edit: I did pitch it outer first in the rain though, it's AWESOMELY easy.

Mongar UL 2p: lots of mesh https://www.naturehike.com/products/mongar-ul-2-person-ultralight-backpacking-tent?_pos=1&_sid=6d3b3fe25&_ss=r Mongar 2 UL: also lots of mesh, idk how it’s different from the previous one other than fly color/material https://www.naturehike.com/products/mongar-2-person-ultralight-backpacking-tent?_pos=2&_sid=6d3b3fe25&_ss=r Mongar Pro 2 UL: less mesh, honestly to me the mesh looks comparable to star river, presumably this is the new one https://www.naturehike.com/products/mongar%E2%84%A2-pro-2-person-ultralight-backpacking-tent?_pos=3&_sid=6d3b3fe25&_ss=r Star River 2p UL: not a lot of mesh https://www.naturehike.com/products/star-river-2-person-ultralight-backpacking-tent?_pos=2&_sid=fd9c84fc1&_ss=r Star River UL 2p: some sides have more mesh than others https://www.naturehike.com/products/star-river-ul-2-person-ultralight-backpacking-tent?_pos=4&_sid=fd9c84fc1&_ss=r Also, NatureHike should do a better job of naming their products, it’s honestly a little confusing. Assuming the non pro version of the mongar 2 is available in OP’s region, the regular mongar 2 UL have a lot of mesh and are good tents, especially on a budget.

Naturehike was also my recommendation, I have two of their tents, the Mongar 2p packs down small, there is only room inside for 2 people, no room for gear, gear goes in the vestibule. It has 2 entrances/exits and 2 vestibules, a mesh bag at the head and foot, and a net above to store some items inside the tent. I went with the 210T polyester over the 20D nylon since the polyester is still fairly light and I valued the UV and rain sag resistance as well as cost over the weight. If you want more space, they do have a 3p version. I’d take a look at their tents and see if there’s anything that fits your criteria. I don’t think there’s really a category that fits this style of camping, the closest I can think of is motorcycle camping. r/motocamping I assume weight doesn’t matter as much as space/volume does for them but I could be wrong, I don’t frequent that sub.

Climbing in frontwards while trying not to touch the wet ground with my knees, while being low enough that my back or head doesn’t catch the fly and dump water on my back to then have to turn halfway so my bum lands on the inside then taking my boots off then pulling my legs inside and then leaning out my inner to zip the outta fly door back down while trying to loop the door loop onto the peg and then doing it all over again because I need to pee lol. Maybe a slight exaggeration but side doors are soo much better, particularly for taller, larger or older folks. Loved the tent, very good in the wind with its back facing into the wind. A lot of tent for the price (£80 ish) and a lot of space inside using it as a 1 person tent. I also think it’s the perfect weight. I hate the door lol.

The cloud peak isn’t anything like a hubba lol, maybe you’re thinking of the mongar! The cloud peak is also heavy at 2.6kg Naturehike monger would be worth consideration for OP. I personally feel it has too much mesh and the fly is too high of the ground and that it is very much a summer tent. Naturehike monger 2 20d pro version in olive green is currently £160 on Ali, £20 off when you spend £159 right now so £140. It’s very roomy, easy to pitch, 3000mm hh, 2 side doors with 2 vestibules. The wieght is heavier at 1.8kg but you will be hard to pushed to find something lighter with all the bells and whistles of this style of tent for the price. Shop around, I have seen it cheaper, maybe more like £100-£120 price range.

It absolutely depends - if theres no wind, the Mongar will be fine. If there's a 30mph wind with 40mph gusts (hardly unknown) your tent *might* survive, but you'll have a scary night. There's also a good chance is will fail completely - snapped poles, torn fabric, all the good stuff. If you're going up high, you need to think about what will happen if your tent fails catastrophically at 3am - you've got 4+ hours till it's light, the weather is shit, and if you walk in the wrong direction you're going to fall 1000ft and then bounce down the rest.

I made a mini review on the UL version: https://www.reddit.com/r/camping/s/pevIg793bt Honestly love this tent lol. It's been called a copycat of the MSR Hubba Hubba 2 but NatureHike has been making gear for a few years. Love their products honestly.

Unfortunately yes, and that's due to the fly's nylon fabric I feel. It stretches when it has any moisture on it. Otherwise if it's dry and taught it's not too noticable. Exactly... They're all made in the same place for the most part haha a tent is a tent!
