We just got a naturehike village 8 person tent with a full rainfly. The first time we used it, there were record hot temps (100⁰) in Florida, but we opened everything up for ventilation and it was tolerable. The second time we had record low temps (27⁰), closed the heavy rainfly fully at night and used an electric space heater and it was 76⁰ in the tent. It was unexpectedly great. Our last tent was a core 9 person and the space heater didn't really do much. The naturehike tents are on sale at a deep discount right now on Amazon. The big disadvantage is that the tent is very heavy because of that super thick rainfly, so it may not work if you have to haul it very far.

Naturehike Village 8-person. Came with the full rainfly and really nice tent stakes compared to my Marmot 4-person.

2 adults, 2 kids. Everyone has a cot and I'd say we had a spare 24 sq. ft. or so at the entrance. I really like it, all the other scouting families have Core tents and I think this is a nice alternative, especially the color. Zippers seem solid, and the rainfly has a reflective lining on the inside which I think helps keep the heat in.Β

Yes I wanted to keep it an instant setup tent so super quick to put up. I feel like this has about as much rain protection as you could get for an 8-person. You can also fully zip down that awning and have a full coverage rain fly.

To be fair I've only used this one 4 times now. And everything is like new, the zippers/stakes/tie downs just seen higher quality. And it kept us warm on a chilly night in the mountains last weekend. The cores still seem to be doing ok as far as I can see but family tents get beat up in general.

Check out Naturehike Village for 6 or 8. Personally I would get the 8 person tent to give you plenty of room. The tents are so easy to set up. I have the Village 6.0 for 4 people, and I usually just use it for myself and my 75 pound dog. I love the fact that I can stand up and change my clothes in it. I put a cot or an inflatable twin mattress, a side table, a chair, all my gear in it and still have room to move around. It has an awesome awning that provides plenty of shade. One of my camping trips with friends in the middle of summer we had 5 adults on chairs around a small table playing cards and 3 dogs all under the awning. It was cramped but it was the only shade we had. I bought the black out version and it was great to sleep in a little and it kept the tent somewhat cooler in the full morning sun. No condensation problems so far, it has a full bathtub floor, solid seams and you can’t beat the price. I’d wait for Black Friday to buy any tent and get an extra discount.

I agree with wizard00, Naturehike village 6 is an excellent tent. Easy to set up alone, spacious and the awning is one of the best features. I got the black-out one, camped in hot and cold weather, wind and rain, and it held up to it all.

Looking at your tent examples, I'm curious why weight is a major factor in your decision making process? You are car camping, right? Not backpacking in? You want one tent that would serve comfortably for: * One woman * One woman + dog * Two people (+ dog?) * Three people (+ dog?) You want a tent that is easy to set up solo, but also multi-room for a bigger group. I would say, for comfort's sake of 3 people (+ dog?) you want a 6-8 person tent (depending on your sleep setups). First, I would ask, why don't you get a simpler, lighter, cheaper 2 person tent for you and your dog? Let the others who may occasionally join you be responsible for their own tents. But if you are going for the max versatility, look for a cabin style pop-up/instant tent. Even the bigger ones can often be set up solo. Take a look at *Naturehike*. They are available in Australia, and they have a variety of both lighter backpacking tents (like the [Monger 2p 20D Nylon](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01MCSRQT8?), and larger cabin/instant tents (like the [Village 8p Instant Cabin Tent](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DP2L493T?). They have a good price/quality balance.

r/CampingGear β€’ Standing height tent: which is easiest to set up: hub, instant, or clip pole? β†’
6 months ago

The hub style tent will be the easiest to set up overall, but is the worst option IMO. I would look at "instant" tents more similar to the naturehike village. Realistically these are just how modern pole tents work (including a lot of stuff from big agnes/nemo/etc) and will have the best combo of size/weight/ease of use. In terms of specific tents, the nature hike village (specifically the ones with dual shades) would be pretty damn high up my list tbh. You need something with windows on all 4 walls and the screen porch some of them have will be very welcome. In terms of humidity, if you enjoy the experience of tent camping and have spare charge on your car, you can always get a small portable AC unit to deal with that....

Naturehike village. I watched his review as well and Kent Survival used it to help with my decision. Bought directly thru naturehike. Just came back last weekend. It's a super easy setup and take down, quality materials, nice touches here and there and it's a darkroom tent when the outside shades are down. I'm your size, and we had two full size cots, my wife and I and two dogs and bags and a side table inside. The rain fly is excellent with an additional awning. Tent frame and accessories in the bag first, then stuff the huge rain fly in the remaining space.. quite easily. Enjoy your camping trip.
