OEX - Bobcat 1 Person Tent

If you don't mind the size It is a fantastic shelter! The back inner wall can be somewhat saggy which can be a pain, make sure you peg out the back guy rope as long and tight as possible.

I have the bobcat 1 great little tent, not used as much as I'd like but for the money good value. It is small once your in it, only thing I'd mod would be adding a guy point to the back of the tenf just to give you a bit more protection from the wind.

Me and my friend both have them and they are brilliant, pack size is brilliant and leaving the inner attached when packed away makes things so much easier when having to set up again.im 6ft and 15 stone it’s just right for size including gear

I find getting the pole in annoying, and I had to practise a bit before it because second nature. I thread the pole through and into one end, then bend the entire thing like a bow to attach the other end. Also there’s a knack to pegging out the back guys to stop the inner touching, worth playing around with if you’re having problems. Hope you have lots of great adventures in it, I love mine!

No problem! I haven’t pitched it for a while as I haven’t had a solo trip in a hot minute (😭) but I think 90 degrees perpendicular to the pole worked best for me, but don’t quote me on that! I also leave the inner attached and just pitch it in one for ease/laziness.

I have a bobcat - 5ft 3 woman. It does me perfectly for solo adventures. It’s big enough I can sit up in and there’s space for my stuff. I wouldn’t say it packs down especially small though, I sling it across the top of my pack usually. Happy to answer any questions!

The bobcat will be fine for you but the phoxx 1 is just too small, it’s a large bivvy imo. Look for a deal on a cloud up 2

How tall and wide are you? I'm 6ft and 14 stone. I own the bobcat  it's a well constructed shelter that appears to be pretty well put together, and when pitched feels bomb proof  But, I side sleep and roll a bit and being 6ft and wide the bobcat is claustrophobic, honestly if I was an inch or two shorter, and I was a little trimmer it would be perfect.

I've had both the Phoxx and Bobcat. I wouldn't recommend the Phoxx no matter how tall you are, it's more the shape and design of where the door is and how you get in and out which I found really cramped and uncomfortable. Bobcat feels bigger than it is. There's not much difference in packed size ( I store the bobcat in the Phoxx bag!)
