Ozark trail makes good family tents. We returned our LL Bean tent 2 times due to shoddy workmanship and leaks . Each was set up 3 times and used a week at a time . The Ozark trail has far surpassed the quality of LLBean as far as water infiltration ( 0 leaks in OT seams even in torrential rain) I am no fan of Walmart but these tents are great. Cheap . Easy set up . Good warranty .
Go cheap .we love Ozark Trail tents. The kkds have tried to kill them and they are tough .. Bikes and scooters hit the screens and so far so good .
Go to Walmart and buy some Ozark trail camping goods . Tent Tarp Rope Hammocks Or Chairs Sleeping bags Cots or air matresses. Headlamps My niece uses this brand . The tents and tarps are great . This summer will be year 6 with Ozark Trail gear It is affordable and sturdy
It depends upon the tent you get if it will be hard to put up by yourself. I did a 6 person ozark trail dome tent by myself and I currently put up my 6 person Coleman Carlsbad by myself. The Carlsbad is shorter than the ozark trail but both went up moderately easy, not as easy as one of those ones you just fling and it’s set up but those tend to be a little stuffy inside.
I had a 6 person Ozark that withstood 60 mph straight line winds one year and a freaking tornado another. (We headed to town for the actual tornado. Got back to camp & there were tents down and lawn chairs in trees, but our chairs were under the picnic table where I had stashed them & our tent was fine, even dry inside.) Always use all the stakes, lol. Had great luck with that Ozark. I recently downsized to a 3 person Coleman Hooligan. I love it.
Honestly I don’t think you’ll have much trouble. I bought a 6 person Ozark tent for me my son and partner when we went to Utah last year and hadn’t gone since I was 11 or 12 and set it up on my own because they’re so different now lol!!!! Didn’t have to slide poles through fight anything etc. mine just clicked to the poles. So as long as you feel comfortable with the price and brand 2 person Ozark should be ok! Esp to start off. We had good blankets weren’t cold at all had 0 tent issues (:
I've had a Ozark Trail 6 man tent from Walmart for several years. It packs up nice and small, and will comfortably fit two people with all their gear. I can set it up by myself in about 20 minutes. You'll want to throw a tarp over it for when it rains.
The Ozark trail 6 person was just fine for a full year of use. We had some good rain storms, wind, beach and mountain camping.. We upgraded after learning more about how me and my fiance camp together and Rei had a great sale on large tents. I got rid of it after a leak happened in our storage unit and it was super, super moldy. We now have the northface wawona and love it but the Ozark trail is a good, cheap starting point.
