If you're a costco member I'd look into what they have. I got a core tent from them 5 years ago that's a 6 person tent and we use it multiple times a year and love how easy it ia to set up and its held up really well in our downpours we get. Our camp flooded and our tent stayed dry. We have an Ozark yurt tent that we bring for hunting camp. Its not our favorite as when its windy it does try to fly off and you need a lot of space to set it up as it has a lot of stakes it needs to stand up. It's super roomy though we had 2 cots on one side and we could easily fit 2 more
Uhhh yeah so your not going to get what you want. A 3 room tent is well over 20 pounds and quite large you should look up any 3 room tent and look at the weight and dimensions. If you must have a large tent id go with Ozark trails yurt from Walmart. Cheap very large size and weight is manageable.
Wife and I have a nice msr elixir 4 that we took to yosemite and sequioa in april one year for her birthday trip. Brought 2 of our big wolfdogs with and needed a bigger tent n one i didnt care if they destroyed. Got the 7 person teepee tent from walmart clearance 2 days into the trip for like $40... Got a huge snowstorm in sequioa and it held up to over 2' of heavy snow in one night. Was insanely surprised and still use that tent for family camping trips today. Some of the ozark stuff is surprisingly decent for the price.
Ya ozark seems to be just as good as Coleman ime. Great for car camping a few times a year.
Their fabric is damn thin. Do not use this tent in rain. You will regret it, I promise.
I have this one which has been great so far. It’s really heavy though. I suppose it doesn’t take up a ton of car space - if they got the6 person version (if there is one) that would probably work out fine. There’s always space under a cot to store stuff also.
