I have seen some setups where people will elbow the chimney so it's pretty far from the tent. I mean, I'm SURE that the tent company thought of this and the material it's made out of can withstand some sparks. My tent is a Pomoly teepee. Despite it being well made, in the end it's just thin nylon/polyester and the littlest spark is going to instantly burn a hole right through it. I burn good wood, yet that still happened so who knows. Something to keep an eye on and for sure ask around on the elbow, I don't really know how that would work as far as getting a proper flow.. maybe it's no big deal. Love the tent though, I keep eyeing them up, but $1k is way too pricey. I'm sure like everything they will come down once other tent makers jump on it.
I think you'll be much happier with the current tent you have. The teepee tent is nice, I have the Bromance. But what I notice is that you have to crawl around a lot because all of your open space is down at ground level. You can stand but only in the center really, so the rest of the time you're hunched over or crawling around to unzip the tent. It was a good intro for me to hot tenting and I'll probably use it another winter season, but in the future, I'm going to look for more of a square option like yours.
