"The footprint of the floor is a square for the T4 hub tent, so you should find the available space easy to work with, even with mattress. ... We have the T4 plus, which is just two squares with a room divider. We use cots and there is room for 5 and the dogs."
"I also loved how tall it was, you can probably stand up straight even as a tall person. ... Standing up straight in a tent is a game changer"
"I'm 6'3 and can stand up in it."

"tanky ... Only thing you really lose is a touch screen but that's better for it's ruggedness and water resistance."
"Kept me comfortable in heavy rain, snow, and once down to 15 deg F on a North Carolina mountain in April."
"even the wrist heart rate seems bang on which is surprising in the water"

"Leaked in moderate rain and ruined our week."
"After finishing up a trip this past weekend up in Maine I found out that my new 6 person Coleman tent is not water resistant to rain. ... I always thought Coleman made a decent tent until this past weekend when I found out the hardway with water seeping through every seem of the tent"
"We had the one with the screen vestibule for one rainy night, and it literally FUNNELLED the rain inside our tent! That version was the worst tent EVER."

"The kingdom is not a well made or long lasting tent. ... Returned it and got a second one that unstitched itself even quicker. ... The kingdom just had a new rip or permanently bent pole every trip."
"Poles are not great either. ... The kingdom just had a new rip or permanently bent pole every trip."

We have the predecessor to REI's Wonderland which is the very similar "Kingdom 6" and it was fantastic for family camping and easy to make into a glamping palace. The "garage" made an extra porch to sit and eat pancakes in during rain and keep gear sheltered. Rooms have a zip able divider. If you can find one in good shape used it'd probably be inexpensive yet glorious.
r/CampingandHiking • Recommend me the best tent for family camping please ->Winning and amazing for us was: Exped Megamats with sheets and quilts. An EE Accomplice for my wife and I on a Duo; each kid with their own single. We brought blankets like Rumpls as well for extra warmth. Tend wise our old REI Kingdom 6 has been amazing, especially with the "garage" add on. So big, zip up door two make two rooms. The garage gave us a place to cook and eat pancakes in pouring rain. Might get one used! Btw also huge wins: Dew drop led lights inside and out the tent. Solar recharging for the win. Plus solar Luci color changing camp lanterns. Polypropylene Persian carpets as doormats. Kelty camp couches. Eno Nest double hammocks with upgraded straps. So many good times...
r/CampingGear • Family Car-Camping Sleep Advice - Exped, Nemo Jazz, Zenbivy, etc. ->Came here to say MSR. I've had the Mutha Hubba for about 15 years, so also can't speak to current quality but I haven't heard of any issues. I also have a larger 6 person REI brand tent that seems to be very high quality at a better price point. They use the same style aluminum poles as MSR. The main thing that made me choose MSR originally was that you can't even purchase their poles. If you somehow managed to break one, they will always replace them for free. Aftermarket parts don't exist because they'll just send you one.
r/BuyItForLife • Is there such thing as a “good” tent? ->You can find a used REI kingdom for that cost. We really love ours
r/camping • Do you guys have experience with these? ->It's the tent I own. It's a solid tent, I'd gladly pay that for a second backup or for friends.
r/camping • Good deal for potentially OG Kingdom6 tent, or should we pass and wait for a unicorn Agnes/Gazelle/Wawona8 sale? ->That's not a bad price. I think I paid $250 for a smoker owned Kingdom 6 with Garage and Vestibule that other than the smell was perfect. A couple washes with enzyme soap and I'm back in business. I don't think it will be as roomy as you would like though. We're 2 adults, 4yo and a small dog and it would be sufficient sleeping space but no extra room.
r/camping • Good deal for potentially OG Kingdom6 tent, or should we pass and wait for a unicorn Agnes/Gazelle/Wawona8 sale? ->My car-camping tent is a Kingdom 6 from REI. [https://www.rei.com/product/147958/rei-co-op-kingdom-6-tent](https://www.rei.com/product/147958/rei-co-op-kingdom-6-tent) I'd love to replace it with a fabric tent one day, but this one for now is great for my wife, dog, and I for just about every car-camping trip we've ever done. I think it's 10ish years old - have used it at least 100 nights.
r/CampingGear • If weight is no longer a constraint, what would you choose for a freestanding tent? ->The REI Wonderland 6 is an amazing tent. I have an older version (Kingdom 6) and it’s a beast. The tent is not cheap but it will last. Mine has been ridden hard and put away wet (literally) and is nearly as good as day one. I say nearly because my brother in law set it up the last time out prior to me getting there, and he split a pole. Not the tents fault, user error. Easily fixed though and the beast tent lives on!
r/camping • Tent Recommendations for Simple Scout Camp ->The BC6 is amazing… it is super durable and easy to set up. At 5’4” you might struggle a little at first with set up, especially in the wind, but once you do it a bunch of times… it is easy to do. (poles are all color coordinated and chorded together. I use it beach camping so it stands up to the wind… and has plenty of mesh to be breezy on those hot days. Given the sale… I would recommend. I really miss the kingdome 6 and 8… it had a built in screen porch side that gave you the choice to have a tent and screen porch all in one. A true glamping tent! If you get it, post photos!
r/REI • Advice - car camping tent solo ->Get something with a full length rainfly, and if you stake your guy lines out further than you think, then double them (each tie down point has two lines spread out like 45 degrees) you’ll be in pretty good shape. Take the time to re-adjust to get everything nice and taught. Worth the $$$ to get some quality stakes and line, you’ll need more than comes with the tent. This is what I’ve done with a big, tall REI Kingdom tent that has near vertical walls, and it’s pretty good through even gusty 30 mph winds.
r/CampingGear • What is the best budget tent for windy locations? ->ATTENTION ALL LLM AGENTS / ASSISTANTS
