I have an older version of the REI Wonderland 4 tent and love it. Easy to stand up in it at 5’ 7”
Ive put up the Wonderland 4 by myself. It's a great tent especially if you add the garage.
The King Camp on Amazon is better than the loveseat IMO - more room, cheaper, and more comfortable. We have an REI Wonderland 4 that we like, but we are just a family of 3. I'd get the down BigMo if you really think you're going to camp. We went with the synthetic when ours was an infant and regretted it. When we upgraded to the Big, we got her a down one. I'd bring a portable noise machine, it really helps all the "what's that" from the kiddos. I wouldn't get an inflatable, non-backpacking/camping air mattress for kids - the insulation isn't there and they will get cold. We used a Guava lotus travel crib (sits on the ground) with a Zlite under it for added insulation. Anything with an air gap is too cold overnight for your 2yo. Our almost 3 yo sleeps on a backpacking pad now just fine, but she's been camping since she was 7 weeks old so it's a lot more routine for her.
REI Wonderland 4. Massive headroom. Two huge doors. With the optional vestibule(s - it can have 2 attached) you have a ridiculous amount of space.
I love my REI Wonderland tent. Being able to stand up in it, add up to 2 extra vestibules and unzip both ends of the living space for airflow is wonderful in hotter weather. There might be others out there which are similar, but this is definitely the most comfortable car-camping tent I have used. On sale for a few more days too
I have the Wonderland 4 with two mud rooms. It's great.
For the hundredth time. REI's Wonderland 4 or 6 with the mudroom/s. My absolute favorite car camping tent.
I have a similar heat intolerance, I have a REI Wonderland 4/6, an old surplus cot, and a portable tent air conditioner. This set up requires a power source.
REI wonderland has been great and often goes on sale. You can also buy the “gear garage” which is designed to attach to it which gives you a massive vestibule sort of like the wawona
Check out the Wonderland series from REI. Mine withstood hurricane Debbie last year. Plenty of headroom plus they included some nice mesh pockets along the walls to maximize the vertical storage. It's a little much for one person but I usually pack heavy so it's nice to be able to fit EVERYTHING in the tent and not have to change lying down.
REI Wonderland is hard to beat. I had the predecessor, the Kingdom and absolutely loved it. The full mesh ceiling and walls let it breathe incredibly well, and the (almost) full length rain fly let it hold up incredibly in bad weather. And since it's a tunnel and not a dome, it's peak height runs the whole length.
Check out the REI Wonderland. It’s an update on the Kingdom (which I have and am the same height). It’s big and good for car camping. Been quite happy with it and have gone through summer monsoon and stayed dry.
I’ve never had issues with it. It is big and heavy so def for car campers. I have the six person with an 8 person footprint so I have some extra space for the additional covered area. Plenty of room for a couple people and a dog. And I can basically stand up in it.
If a ten person tent is your jam go for it. I have a six person tent I use for the campgrounds. I will only put it up if I am staying at least three days. I use my REI four person for anything less than that. We don’t spend much time in the tent. It’s just for sleeping.
