"It stood up to a tornado i got hit with on my last backpacking trip in missouri."

"it literally survived a tornado while set up. I just had to stake it back down."

"surprisingly solid tent for hunkering down for a day or two in very wet and stormy Wyoming weather. ... exceed the quality of a lot of Western branded mid range tents in the $500 USD pricing tier based on my experience of seeing colleagues with a couple of very well known and popular mid tiered tents struggling under stronger winds and wetter weather."

"These Core tents allow standing room. ... it's damn nice to be able to stand inside the tent."

"I’m 5’7 and have a bout 6-8 extra in of clearance when standing up."

"My family of three love our Marmot Halo 6p. ... If that’s a deal breaker, the 6p is 76” at its peak. ... The design of the Halo creates nearly vertical walls which make the standing room reach further out than just at the very center. ... We camp with 3 cots (because we’re fancy) in the tent so being able to stand up while closer than just the dead center makes getting dressed much easier."

"I've never had a better night sleep while car camping, and I've tried them all. ... I broke my back years ago, and this setup has restored my willingness to camp more often. Win/win."

"Definitely Hest for an every day long term sleeping system. ... Super comfortable"

"I sleep fantastic when I use it"

"The amount of ventilation options is insane and welcome. ... All the mesh windows/doors on the snow peak has a zippered cover on the inside too. So if it’s cold/windy out you can keep them closed and it effectively helps keep you warm and cozy. But you can unzip them all while keeping the fly closed in case it’s raining for ventilation. Or you can keep those inside panels open and keep the fly portion covering the door/window open and now you just have incredible air transfer and breeze if you’re laying with your head under the sloping area and you have the fly tied back and the inside material zipped open with just the mesh and you look straight up you see the sky."

"Agreed that the ventilation is incredible. ... On hot evenings we’ve opened every door and thrown a battery powered fan inside and it’s been great."

"the inner tent is almost entirely doors/windows and can be unzipped to the point where it’s almost all screen. ... It seems like it’d be great for warm/hot weather camping."

"it's nice to be able to fit EVERYTHING in the tent and not have to change lying down."

"You can also buy the “gear garage” which is designed to attach to it which gives you a massive vestibule sort of like the wawona"

"Very roomy"

"My wawona leaked all over the second time I used it."

"the Sundome only comes down halfway."

"My personal experience is with one of my older tent coleman sundome, where the fly kind of goes just below where the screen material is. In windy conditions, the, due to the gap, the wind finds its way in and make the fly very flap around a lot and hence its very loud."

"The pole design means they are under twist pressure, and after I'd replaced the third set of poles I decided to go inflatable. ... and the poles kept breaking."

"It was a great tent up until the fiberglass pole snapped on a trip last year."

"Personally snapped a three season tent on rainier from the wind a few seasons ago. Granted it was a big Agnes tiger wall."

"the only thing I don't like about it is it takes 2 people to set up."

"It definitely a 2 person job to set up, however."

"Size/Weight yes it takes up a decent chunk of room when packed and weighs a lot. ... Also need a large space to set it up which not all camp sites have."

"Only caveat is its size when being packed. I just throw it on the roof rack."

"It’s very heavy. So definitely a car camping tent."

I actually own(ed) and have camped in the Wonderland 6 and the big house 4. We bought the big house 4 looking for something a bit smaller, lighter, and easier to set up when we're only doing a 1 nighter. Unfortunately, we HATE the door design, so much that it's needed to be returned. The door on the big house closes only in the bottom corner, you can't have it closed with the zipper higher up. It also has a lot of snagging issues, and overall not as easy to open/close as the wonderland. In a heavy or blowing rain it is very easy for water to enter here, even when you have the zipper guards velcro'd on the outside. So much water came in during one thunderstorm it saturated one of my beach towels and then some, and the leaking here was a recurring issue driving us to decide we needed to return it. The only down sides on the Wonderland are: Price (if you can wait for REI anniversary sale or similar try to hold our for 25-30% off MSRP at least. Size/Weight yes it takes up a decent chunk of room when packed and weighs a lot. Also need a large space to set it up which not all camp sites have. Set up time, it takes longer than a classic dome tent as it has 4 total poles and a few extra guy outs. We love the wonderland and own 2 of the additional "mud room" attachments that we can bring as needed. Super spacious and the doors work a dream, never had any issues with water leaking in during a storm.

REI wonderland has been great and often goes on sale. You can also buy the “gear garage” which is designed to attach to it which gives you a massive vestibule sort of like the wawona

Came here to say MSR. I've had the Mutha Hubba for about 15 years, so also can't speak to current quality but I haven't heard of any issues. I also have a larger 6 person REI brand tent that seems to be very high quality at a better price point. They use the same style aluminum poles as MSR. The main thing that made me choose MSR originally was that you can't even purchase their poles. If you somehow managed to break one, they will always replace them for free. Aftermarket parts don't exist because they'll just send you one.

Owned the REI for two seasons now. Given you live in Florida, ventilation may be an issue and the REI has good ventilation. The new design, with the side windows, really helps with air flow. Still it buttons up nicely if you want to keep the warmth in. Set up takes a bit of practice. I can do it alone but easier with two. We have the mud room and that does seem to cut down on ventilation as it seals up that one end of the tent. While it is rated for six, I think the upper end may be more like three.

I think they call it the REI WONDERLAND nowadays. We have the kingdom and it's a fantastic tent.

10 person tents are HUGE. Not many of those that aren't big. People who choose a 10-person tent are generally not worried about space, haha. 1 option is to choose 2 4-person tents. Way more options for 'small' 4-person tents. It would help if you listed a budget. If you have $200 to spend you will have less options than $2000. REI's 6-person tent is really big in car camping standards. On sale for $350 now. It packs down to: 13 x 32 inches. Could this work for you? Yeah, the Wonderland model replaced the Kingdom a few years back. Similar but different.

I have used the Wonderland 6 and loved it. I car camp alone most of the time with my dogs and was able to easily put it up alone. The tent kept me and the pups dry and comfortable.

REI Wonderland, it's the successor to the Kingdom model. Lots of ventilation and allows for the mud room add one.  https://www.rei.com/product/202982/rei-co-op-wonderland-6-tent

The REI Wonderland 6 is an amazing tent. I have an older version (Kingdom 6) and it’s a beast. The tent is not cheap but it will last. Mine has been ridden hard and put away wet (literally) and is nearly as good as day one. I say nearly because my brother in law set it up the last time out prior to me getting there, and he split a pole. Not the tents fault, user error. Easily fixed though and the beast tent lives on!

Check out the Wonderland series from REI. Mine withstood hurricane Debbie last year. Plenty of headroom plus they included some nice mesh pockets along the walls to maximize the vertical storage. It's a little much for one person but I usually pack heavy so it's nice to be able to fit EVERYTHING in the tent and not have to change lying down.
