6’ 6” and I bought that tent and returned it. The measurements are incredibly disingenuous as it’s only that length directly on the floor due to the incredibly steep wall slopes, which I guess is perfect if you’re 2 dimensional. At 12” off the ground however where your feet and head are, it’s shorter inside than an X-Mid 1. Don’t waste your time on that tent.
I bought one back in 2017 as my first backpacking tent. It's treated me well, and through both high winds and torrential downpours.
Because it's a really old design and people moved on to newer shinier things, especially after they stopped making it in DCF. It's a great tent, especially for tall people.
I use it, and love it. So much so that when it was ~8 years old and in need of replacement, I only briefly looked at different options before buying the new version. In those 8 years it did near on 10,000 km. I replaced the zipper and it had a few tape patches from general wear/tear and a few holes because the owner is an idiot, but otherwise help up really well. I can fit myself, and my pack, inside the tent proper. Plenty of room for dirty shoes under vestibule.
I have taken my six moons design skyscape trekker everywhere. It is silpoly and has been durable to the point that I gave it to one of my teenagers (boy scout) when I bought my Owyhee tarp.
Interesting! I have a regular 2025 XMid 1P (not the XDome) and I fit in it just fine at 6'1. I've also used the SMD Skyscape Trekker, which was nice, but still a tad small for my taste (though I did fit in it).
I bought last fall and I love it. Under 2# with stakes and plenty of space for a tall guy (6'4") like me. You can also sit up straight in it which is a huge bonus. The dual doors are nice, I'm looking forward to nicer weather when I can open both sides up. My packing buddy got the Lunar solo which is a great tent in its own right, but the extra length on the Trekker is indispensable (for me, anyway). He's ~5'10" and said he's too close to the head/foot of the tent. The Lunar has far more floor space than the Trekker but it only uses a single pole so the roof slants and eliminates the headroom I have in the Trekker. I will say the vestibules on the Trekker could be better. I can set my pack upright in it but that's about all that will fit. The fly also rides a bit high so I'm worried how well the vestibules will work in the rain. It doesn't have a vent but I've camped in the rain and subfreezing temps and condensation wasn't an issue. All said and done I'm EXTREMELY happy with the tent but if you're not a giant like me, you might be fine with the Lunar or Gossamer Gear The One.
I bought one in 2018 and absolutely loved it. I wanted the new fabric last year so I sold the 2018 on ULgeartrade and bought a new one! Here’s what I like about it: super easy to set up, one piece, only takes 5 stakes to stand, poles inside the tent (can’t be knocked over by accident), mostly double wall (one panel at the foot is single wall), both doors roll completely back for a net tent experience, spacious inside but doesn’t take up a huge foot print. Only con about it is that I wish the bathtub were taller to help with splashing during rain however I tried a tarptent with a taller bathtub and experience splashing in that tent as well so 🤷♀️
