Springbar Family Camper - expensive but amazing materials and if you take care of it…, will be a family heirloom. Plenty of space, amazing quality, breathable, massive windows. I really love my tent 🙏🏻 https://preview.redd.it/v4d1jpyazv7g1.jpeg?width=3840&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3fc4030bc26e0c2f3a674b3c3bc8637579e952bb
OK Im uniquely qualified to answer this question! My time to shine finally! I was a previous owner of a Springbar Family Camper and current owner of the cheapy Coleman Blackout Tents. One thing to consider with the Springbars, are the amount of sunlight that get let through them. Theyre great tents, very comfortable, setup easy, but they just let in way to much light for getting little kids down to bed. Ultimately we went back to the cheap blackout Coleman tent and have been happy with that. It wont last as long as the Springbar, but it works while our kids are really little, and eventually we can buy another Springbar if we want too.
5 tents A quick pop up triangle style 4 man pup tent for kids to tent in the back yard or inside the house with. Springbar tents 1 family camper 1 euro traveler 1x 3 man compact And a 1 man compact I live in Utah and repair springbars for fun when I have time, most of these were given in exchange to fix up some youth groups tents and after rules regarding small tents with youth were changed and 3 and less tents were banned for scouting. Too many possible problems with less kids in a tent alone and they don't want to take chances. I sold off most of the tents that those groups wanted to toss after convincing them to let me fix them up and keep a few rather than replace them with inferior ones. These are the ones I have left and have uses for depending on the circumstances. Sure it takes up alot of storage space, but I don't mind. I enjoy using them and my extended family now don't have excuses now why we can't possibly tent camp anymore 😁
Been overlanding for years with a springbar tent...10 x 14.
Kodiak or Springbar canvas tent. For 6 people you’ll want a 10x14. They’re pricey but very worth it IMO.
I have a 10x14’ springbar tent, I feel setup is pretty simple and straightforward compared to other tents I’ve used. I can easily set it up and take it down by myself.
I’m a third generation springbar owner. My grandparents have had one that’s lasted 50 years, my parents has lasted almost 30, and we just got one secondhand for a good deal. All made in the US and you can buy patches, zippers, poles, and pretty much anything else to repair them from Springbar. We got our 10x14 (6-8 person tent) for $500 used and after a deep clean it looks good as new!
Look into Springbar or Kodiak tents. They aren't cheap, but your grandchildren won't need to replace it when they're taking their kids camping. You may be able to find a used one close to your price range. I got my 6 person Springbar for $400.
