[The North Face VE-25](https://www.thenorthface.com/en-us/p/bags-and-gear/camp-shop/mountaineering-829880/ve-25-tent-NF0A8BDT) Rock solid 4-season with a hexagonal footprint, so you can turn your orientation after setting up the tent. Not cheap, but not the most expensive gear out there either. edit: another point in the VE-25's favor is that the four tent poles are all the same size. Simplifies setup, which is nice since in winter you're more likely to be setting up in the dark

I own the VE-25. Where are you going to be camping?

I was going to say something similar. I've got half a dozen tents and have seriously put them through the ringer. The real MVP is UV and waterproof sprays for maintenance. I like nikwax best but have used all kinds of brands. And always throw some dessicant, like silica packets, in when you pack it up for winter. With the right treatment, I had a $25 Walmart tent be the only one in my camping group that made it through an absolute deluge. I have a Coleman that was up for almost 4 months straight and get regular use l, for weeks at a time, and is still going strong years later. But if you want my all-time favorite, can handle absolutely anything, it's TheNorthFace VE 25. Been through sand storms, blizzards, days of rain. But it's a bit of a pita to set up.

TNF 25 = high altitude, almost exped level alpine mountaineering tent. MH = solid 4-season tent for more “typical” winter camping. Both good options but def different horses for different courses. As others have said, there are plenty of other options for both categories.

We have 4, was 5 but I turned one in to a gear reseller and got $40. It was a 30 year old 2p thru-hiker mountain hardware that would not die. We also had a North Face 3p that was awesome, it was barely holding together with patches and 10 layers of seam seal, finally destroyed in a hailstorm in Golden Gate state park. Oldest to newest: 1. huge Coleman for car camping. 2. 3p mountain hardware 3. 2p (roomy) Nemo 4. 2p Sea2Summit (small) ultralight. Depends on what we are doing, we have everything for 3-1/2 seasons.

I was thinking the tent is 82 inch long. I could sleep in it, but I would be more comfortably laying in a larger tent. I have a North Face tent that I thought was a great find, just to find out it's so tiny inside it annoys me (I think it is only around 80"). I would rather pitch a tarp and sleep in my bivy sack underneath.

The one that fits your needs. Car camping 4 seasons = Kodiak canvas flexbow or a Spring Bar tent is good. Backpacking 4 seasons tents = North Face Small car camping tent = Cabela’s dome tent Two rooms = Gazelle. Car camping 4 seasons White duck bell tent .
