I've posted this elsewhere but just don't understand why you'd buy the "Tesla specific" car tents when the utility suv car tents have more functionality and fit all the same and can be used standalone. I have this $256 [Timber Ridge one.](https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0CT87D3MV?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title) It's hard to make a reasonable valid case for the Tentsla when it's **+$660 more**. And the Tesloid when it's +$230 more. I posted some pics with my Model Y [here.](https://www.reddit.com/r/TeslaCamping/comments/1g0yxxq/mylr_campsite_glamping_on_a_budget/?ref=share&ref_source=link)

That video was really insightful. So the Timber Ridge tent I have is basically this same design/form factor with the poles, but it also has a screened porch and a side vestibule roughly 30% more room. The top connector panel also has zippers so it fits around the hatch much better so you can open and close the hatch while the tent is connected without having to adjust it each time. The next time I go camping (when it warms up a bit more), I'll have to make a similar video with my Timber Ridge.

I've camped about 24 days (4 trips) with it so far. Haven't had any issues, no leaks, no problems. Sometimes the suction cups lose suction but I think it's more of temperature issue, unless it's super windy I don't use them now.

Honestly my biggest gripe is a small one. that the small electricity port on the bottom is on the worst side lol. It's on the furthest point from the charge port, outside passenger rear. That being said I've now used it 7 times and its held up well over 2 camp seasons.

2024 Limited AWD Cyber Gray PNW Yes you can. We did. It worked great. Sorry I don't have a shot. Will remember to take one on our next camping trip. [https://a.co/d/3X0fHq5](https://a.co/d/3X0fHq5) One tip: definitely set this one up before you head to the boonies!

Not really. The tunnel allows a good deal of flexibility in positioning. We were surprised at how well the Ioniq HVAC system was able to condition the tent.

I have one. It’s nice overall. But it’s only me, my wife, and dog. Most annoying part is getting the straps in and around the back wheels. The car to tent connection is fine as it’s snug underneath. There are some air gaps on the side. My partner is a craft person so we had some extra magnet strips we just lay on top to close the air gaps. I’m sure other people have other solutions. Overall though, we don’t use it much. It’s been more fun to bring out other tent since it’s a pop up and slightly bigger. We use it like a living room/ indoor hang area. I will say: be mindful of the straps and clips on top. During testing, I laid out the straps on top to see how to anchor it to my roof/front windshield with the suction cups. I had my trunk up and wanted to check how the tent would react once I closed the trunk. I didn’t notice until it was too late that a plastic clip from the tent strap was in the groove so when the trunk tried to close- it crunched down and cracked my roof glass :(

Yes, you can. We had a setup like this when we first got our Hi5. I found that the limited air flow and ease of using the rear hatch for entry were not worth having it attached. Instead we went for a much easier to setup tent that is just stand alone, along with just using the side doors for entry/exit. https://preview.redd.it/ys9iaqba0xrf1.jpeg?width=4000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=3cd63f8006dac7d2000658b128e8779cac4ee6ef This brand is acacia, but the tent style is similar to many pop up style tents. I can set this one up by myself in about 5 minutes. The other tent we had was a timber ridge tent and would take closer to 15-20 minutes and was much easier to do with 2 people. It was nearly impossible to setup by yourself if there was any wind.

We used the Timber Ridge for a year and a half, almost every day. It withstood wind pretty well (high elevation mountain camping) was dry in rain, but way too hot in the sun. After that much use, the tent became very brittle, ripping easily and eventually fell apart. But we used it much more than the average person. So under normal use, it will stand up very well in most weather conditions. We mainly used it for cooking, changing, etc because we also sleep in the car with AC.
