Hub style tents are the way to go. Fast and easy to set up. But they cost a little more. Gazelle tents, or I have a timber ridge 8 person and love it. As a matter of fact, I'm using it this weekend for one last time before it gets cold. Highly recommend timber ridge.

I've been camping this summer with a timber ridge 8 person hub style tent and love it. Sets up very fast. Check them out or gazelle hub tents.

r/CampingGearTook my wife camping with some friends. Now she wants us to get some gear and go ourselves. Any recommendations on what gear to bring?

If you want to get a good, easy setup tent get a hub style. Timber ridge or gazelle are good brands. But they are heavy and not for backpacking. I have the timber ridge and love it.

We used the Timber Ridge for a year and a half, almost every day. It withstood wind pretty well (high elevation mountain camping) was dry in rain, but way too hot in the sun. After that much use, the tent became very brittle, ripping easily and eventually fell apart. But we used it much more than the average person. So under normal use, it will stand up very well in most weather conditions. We mainly used it for cooking, changing, etc because we also sleep in the car with AC.
