r/wildcampingintheuk • Tent Recommendations for UK Newbie? ->Have a look at the Wild Country Helm 2 Compact. We bought ours for the WHW and is fine with us two and our gear. 2 vestibiles, outer first or all in 1 erection, aluminium poles and pegs, weighs a couple of kilos. It has been reliable in wild weather, the fly is close to the ground, condensation isn't much of an issue, and it takes a few moments to put up. We are 5'10" and 5'6". We have Topo Air mats, a normal one and a wide one. They both fit fine.
r/wildcampingintheuk • Ordos 2 vs Ordos 3 vs Fjern Gökotta 2 for wild camping in Scotland ->+1 for the helm. However I use the helm2 compact as a nice and roomy solo tent. It can fit 2, but it would be pretty cozy. Consider getting the helm 3 for use as a 2 person tent as it will give a bit more space.
r/wildcampingintheuk • 2 person tent recommendations for Irish and uk weather. ->Wild country helm 2. You’ll get people spouting about naturehike being on par with tents such as wild country (terra nova) or even the likes hilleberg or whatever. Anyway for the money you have to spend the obvious answer (to me) is the wild country helm 2. It’s spacious, easy to pitch, within your weight limit. Has 2 vestibules and 2 doors so each can have their own space
r/wildcampingintheuk • Wild camping with my gf - TENT SUGGESTIONS ->More than welcome to buy mine haha it’s been used 3 times. I’m thinking of selling it to get the new Xmid 2p!
r/wildcampingintheuk • Wild camping with my gf - TENT SUGGESTIONS ->pioneer a 1.5 person tent, i found the helm 2 too tight for 2 and personally i think it is overrated, saggy inner and unless you are under 6 foot too short either side of the centre. I have a hubbahubba clone and we find it fine for 2. Our main tent is an X-Mid 2 and that appears to tick all your boxes. Easily best 2 person tent we have used.
r/wildcampingintheuk • Help with choosing a tent ->Helm 2, unless you are intending to use it for 2 and are tall. I don't think I've ever seen a bit of gear from One Tigris that looks like it is worth buying.
r/wildcampingintheuk • Onetigris Stella or helm compact 2? ->I have just got the wild country by terra nova helm 2. I am very impressed with every aspect of it so far. Would definitely recommend you have a look. It’s £330 on terra nova’s website. But if you google it you can get it for just under £250.
r/wildcampingintheuk • Looking for Lightweight Tent Recommendations Under £250 (UK-Based, Camino + UK 3-Season Use) ->I've seen a good review of the Stella but it was more of a "first look" than what it's like to use. I've seen more real life use when it comes to the Helm series, and that's why I bought a Helm2. I've been caught out in it in some pretty rough conditions on Dartmoor and it held up very well, still feeling pretty stable despite shaking a bit in the really big gusts. The Stella looks like it might be a bit bigger inside, just as my Cloud Peak 2 is, but I guess knowing I have something of roughly similar size that I also know will cope with unexpectedly bad weather puts me off the idea of getting anything else.
r/wildcampingintheuk • Onetigris Stella or helm compact 2? ->Helm 2 will not disappoint
r/wildcampingintheuk • Looking for my first 2-person tent for camping/backpacking. ->Naturehike or any vango within budget. You won’t go wrong with vango. My first wild camping tent was a vango and it lasted years. I was going to get it repaired, I loved it that much but now use a terra nova or wild country helm.
