Helm Compact 2

Its not a tent designed for summit camping in winter, it's a 3 season tent. Although I did take it up on helvellyn in below freezing temperatures and extremely strong winds/snow last winter and it held up very well, I now have a true 4 season tent and its definitely stronger and fills me with much more confidence when camping in a similar scenario to that

i very much like my helm compact 2 for my dog and me. i think they do a 3-person version, which is as small as i'd go for two adults.

I have the helm compact 2 which has served me well for about 4 years now. Snow storms on kinder scout, rain storms in the Brecons all absolutely fine and cosy in the tent. Footprint can be a bit fiddly but otherwise is a really quick and easy tent to set up and pack up. Nice and roomy.

Helm 2, unless you are intending to use it for 2 and are tall. I don't think I've ever seen a bit of gear from One Tigris that looks like it is worth buying.

I've seen a good review of the Stella but it was more of a "first look" than what it's like to use. I've seen more real life use when it comes to the Helm series, and that's why I bought a Helm2. I've been caught out in it in some pretty rough conditions on Dartmoor and it held up very well, still feeling pretty stable despite shaking a bit in the really big gusts. The Stella looks like it might be a bit bigger inside, just as my Cloud Peak 2 is, but I guess knowing I have something of roughly similar size that I also know will cope with unexpectedly bad weather puts me off the idea of getting anything else.

Helm compact. I'd go for the 2, only slightly heavier. Good headroom, 2 vestibules, I can get a pack and boots in mine. Outer first or all together. Good manufacturer, Wild Country/Terra Nova. Not 4 season but the fly is close to the ground. I've not used mine in blowing snow, but its been in some pretty shitty Scottish weather with no issues. Condensation isn't bad. 2 man works fine as an over-nighter or a back packer for me and my wife. It takes a standard and a wide sleeping mat. Ample pockets. Ally poles and pegs. Semi free standing, you need to peg out the corners because the poles are end-to-end and side-to-side. Stands up to fairly strong winds, 40+ mph.
