Same here. As I age (57), I was finding it very uncomfortable in my small dome tent, especially for getting dressed in. I finally got a 6p tent that I can full stand up in at the peak and it's incredibly comfortable to have so much space for gear and even a chair inside! It's a 'Woods' brand (Canada). https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/woods-heritage-a-frame-3-season-6-person-camping-tent-w-2-doors-rain-fly-carry-bag-0763741p.html At first I thought it was overkill for one person, but I quickly got over that! And this is for car camping in a provincial campsite.
Op can do what they want there are plenty A-frame designs around. Most I've seen aren't very practical for anything but car camping. Woods A frame is a decent tent but poles are huge.
