"No, not hard at all, the camera modules are secured to the glass with a double-sided tape (comes included). ... The included cables are plenty long enough to reach from front to back."

"70mai are not too bad, their normal camera design allows the battery to stay reasonably cool, and they use Li Ion cells instead of Lipos."

Promo 70mai A400 - front and rear cam + 32gb for RM 305. Self installation - need purchase hardwire kit for 24h surveillance. Dasher installation - 160 + 85 for hardwire kit Experience so far, the front is good enough but would recommend A510 which cost another 100+. The rear cam is similar with the rest, 1080p is just bad.

1. A400 - 2k video recording, support 24h surveillance. Price with proper discount from Lazada was RM 305. Installation RM 160, hardwire kit is RM 85. Total cost RM 550 (front, rear, hardwire for 24h) 2. A510 - 2.7k video recording, support 24h surveillance. The price I get was around RM 400. Installation will be the same price from Dasher, RM 160 + RM 85. Both prices are for front and rear + 32gb SD card after discounts, you need to wait for discount vouchers. I've surveyed the price for few months to get the lowest price. 2k recording is fine for me but I strongly recommend 2.7k if you got the budget. The rear cam is terrible. My bro got a ddpai top spec but the rear cam still looks like shit because it was standard 1080p. So it's up to you if you want the rear cam, without it will be cheaper, with it will be more evidence if accidents happen.

Viofo are the dogs bollocks, 70 mai are quite good and cheap. Nextbase are expensive and absolutely shite.

r/CarsIndiaSuggest me a dash cam which can stay 24/7
5 months ago

Get a 70mai or even better options like Redtiger or DDPAI and use a hardwire kit with it.. It will allow you to record 24/7 and don't forget to check if the hardwire kit has a voltage protection so that the battery will not be drained.

I dread the day I'll have to have my baby, or anyone's baby in the car tbh. Also I recommend the 70mai dash cam, it's a bit expensive but very good!

A rechargeable RTC battery should be fine, first because it should be located in the cool part of the camera, as Viofo's are, and second because the charge and discharge rates are extremely slow. A main lithium battery is a totally different matter, they need to be charged rapidly, with enough power to shutdown safely, before the camera can start recording, and they are big enough that they often don't fit in the cool part of the camera. 70mai are not too bad, their normal camera design allows the battery to stay reasonably cool, and they use Li Ion cells instead of Lipos. There have been a few reports of Viofo RTC batteries needing to replaced, but it is unusual, and I don't think it is due to heat problems.

r/skodaIs anyone using skoda’s dash cam? Happy with it? If not, other recommendations?

Interesting, never seen that one shop.skoda-auto.cz . They seem to be Pioneer, not an official Skoda accessory because they lack the part number. Maybe it’s a partnership at local importer in Belgium. I’ve seen them in our local tech shops recently but they lack user reviews and they’re long way from beating 70mai(Xiaomi) 😁
