"No, not hard at all, the camera modules are secured to the glass with a double-sided tape (comes included). ... The included cables are plenty long enough to reach from front to back."

"I live in Mexico in a place where temps can get up to 45°C (113°F) and by installing it on the black part of the windshield the camera doesn't get very hot."

"70mai are not too bad, their normal camera design allows the battery to stay reasonably cool, and they use Li Ion cells instead of Lipos."

Ito rin gamit namin, mas trip ko din yung app UI ng 70mai compared sa ddpai. You can also get a realtime view of the dashcam via their app.

Hello All, I am getting my new 2025 NX 350h this weekend. I have a 70mai A800S-01bc Dashcam, which was great for my RAV 4. Would that work for NX 350h? Also, can we install ourselves, or should we go to a mechanic to get it installed?

I got the 70mai Dash Cam A800S from Blade Megamall. It's a free installation and took about 40 minutes to get installed. I think it's a pretty solid dashcam. Paid around 9K pesos for both front and rear cams. The front records in 4K while the rear's at 1080P.

I currently have the Xiaomi 70Mai A800s 4K in front and 1080p in the back, I have had it for about a year and everything is excellent. I previously had the version that follows the A810 but the rear camera cable failed and I ended up returning it. The difference between the A800s and the A810 is the sensor, the first comes with Starvis 1 and the second with the most recent Starvis 2. Zero problems with the app, very good quality at night.

Get an A800S dashcam on Aliexpress (made by 70mai - Xiaomi). It's like 150 USD if you want the bundle with front+rear cameras and international shipping. https://70mai.store/collections/dash-cam/products/a800s-dash-cam Been using one for almost two years. People don't even notice the camera installed in the back of the rearview mirror, it has parking mode (using a hardwire kit), you can get video and photos over wifi or by taking out the SD card, and it records in 4K. It also has GPS to include coordinates and speed in your recordings. I live in Mexico in a place where temps can get up to 45°C (113°F) and by installing it on the black part of the windshield the camera doesn't get very hot.

I'm very happy with 70mai dashcams, currently using the A800s wich is around that price range. Unfortunately if you're in the US current taxes will increase the price a lot and make them not worthy.

Solid list! Honestly, you’ve hit the nail on the head regarding the sensors. if you do a lot of night driving the Sony STARVIS 2 (in the Dylect) is a total game-changer compared to the older IMX415 sensor in the 70mai. The main difference isn't just 'brightness'; it’s how it handles the glare from oncoming high beams. On older sensors, license plates often just look like white glowing rectangles at night, but Starvis 2 actually manages to pick out the letters. Since the Dylect is coming in cheaper than the A800S while having the newer sensor tech, it’s probably the best Value For Money pick on your list right now.

r/CarsAustraliaBest dashcams in Australia that cost less than $250? Or should I just get a BlackVue one for $1.5k?

Nah lol, my $200 xiaomi dashcam is going strong after 5 years. Battery is fine after being parked outside in our summer heat. Has fantastic picture quality. And has motion detection recording (as well as gyro). Absolutely no reason to ever spend $500+ on a dashcam.

If you search 70mai (subsidiary of xiaomi) a800s, thats visually the closest to my model, but mine was the "pro" version of an older model (probably just using the same shell). $250 today + a $30 discount. Easily well under $200 adjusted for inflation precovid. Has all the bells and whistles youd want from a dashcam, and you can even remotely manage the videos on it without having to constantly swap the sd card. Absolutely shits on blackvues you see on DCOAUS videos, as well as some other big brands.
