"I got this 70mai model, very happy with it. ... Didn’t hardwire, due to warranty considerations, plugged it into the trunk 12v socket. Works great"

"70mai are not too bad, their normal camera design allows the battery to stay reasonably cool, and they use Li Ion cells instead of Lipos."

"No, not hard at all, the camera modules are secured to the glass with a double-sided tape (comes included). ... The included cables are plenty long enough to reach from front to back."

"it felt/looked cheaper than all the rest."
Any 70mai camera will work fine. I have a A800s and the original 1s

I have a 70mai, the best one in your price range would be the 70mai M310 or the 1S. I found the app easy to use. I have it powered with a Dual USB charger with a 30w output to charge my phone.
**Best Budget (Solo Cam):** * DDPAI Mini Pro ($30-40 USD) * 70mai Smart Dash Cam 1S ($32-40 USD) * 70mai Dash Cam 3 M200 ($50 USD) - STARVIS 2 IMX662 * Viofo A119 v3 ($70-100 USD) * THINKWARE F70 PRO Dash Cam ($80 USD) The cheap <$50 ones are very discreet because they don't have a display screen. They're just a small round barrel type, very easy to hide if you mount it next to/in front of the rear view mirror.
Get something with starvis 2. 70 Mai one is pretty good deal forb13k.
The 70mai A200 is on the budget spectrum of dual channel dash cams, watch [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1fatNoWEOQ) review video of the A200. I think it does quite a decent job considering it is only a 1080p dash cam setup. One of the drawbacks of 70mai dash cams has been they use a physical battery in stead of capacitors. Batteries wear out, get hot, swell, etc, you get the picture, But 70mai is slowly switching to capacitors so IMO it is a win win for everyone. In saying the above, I live in Canada and I've owned (or still own) several 70mai dash cams - ~~1S~~, M500, ~~A800S~~, A81*0*, **S500**, Omni X200 - those crossed out I no longer own, and the S500 does use a capacitor instead of a physical battery. Other than the 1S, build quality of the rest have been second to none in my opinion. Not to say the 1S was bad just that it felt/looked cheaper than all the rest. When it comes/came to their use I have absolutely no complaints with their ability to the job they were intended to do tis the reason I keep buying into the brand. P.S. Although we are quite happy with 70mai dash cam brand we aren't tied to them by any means as we also use other brands. It has more to do with us being a techno geek than anything else buuut... We are waiting on 70mai's newest release the Omni X800 LOL.
I suggest you check out some reviews on both of them to make a more informative decision on which one would suit you best. I own a few Viofo's including the A229 Plus 3-ch. The brand has been very good to me over the years in terms of reliability. The A229 Plus records 2K front & rear, 1080p interior. For my type of usage, 2K is more than ample. I also own several 70mai dash cams some older some newer... The older 70mai models had physical batteries whilst those produced in the last year and some are equipped with super-capacitors. Yes a capacitor equipped dash cam is preferred. Either way, this brand has been very good to me as well. P.S. I do not own the 70mai M800 (released in Aug 2025) so can't honestly comment on it worth. But I do have the 4K Omni X800, a 360° camera of sorts which was released in May of this year, and it's great!.
I have a 70MAI in both our cars, the one without a screen. It works flawlessly. I have only downloaded videos twice, and the quality is good. Not HD, but good. Had it for more than a year and can not complain.
Viofo are the dogs bollocks, 70 mai are quite good and cheap. Nextbase are expensive and absolutely shite.
Check nyo po 70mai na brand. Before bumili lang ako sa shopee nung nagsale tapos pina install ko na lang. Daming installer sa fb marketplace na naghohome service.
Not sure with the exact model. Pero check nyo po shopee ni 70mai madami po dun, pili na lang.
Get a 70mai or even better options like Redtiger or DDPAI and use a hardwire kit with it.. It will allow you to record 24/7 and don't forget to check if the hardwire kit has a voltage protection so that the battery will not be drained.
