For dashcam, I like 70mai but the best kind you can get is likely one with Sony Starvis 2 sensor for optimal license plate capturing.
I did some research back in 2023 and ended up with a starvis 2 model from 70mai (one of only 2 that were available at the time, the other was a viofo). I’m very happy with it!
He's lying, just trying to get you to buy their accessory dashcam.
Just powering it through the 12v socket is no problem. But if you want 24/7 parking monitoring, then you'll have to hardwire it, which can cause warranty problems.
So if you just want normal dashcam functionality go for any 70mai model. If you want parking monitoring also, go for the dealer one, provided they have that function, confirm that.. And get proper confirmation in writing that the dealer fitting will not cause any warranty problems in the future.
