Which one? I recently got a 70mai M800 since i was going for a tiny one. But the memory was limited. Just needed front n back. Might get t800e
The car i just bought had a 70mai m800 4k harness already installed and hard wired in, so i figured i'd try it, the camera works well, the video is very clear and the app is quite responsive, but it does say it has parking mode and it doesn't really, you need to buy an extra little module thing to go along with it. Good value for a $250 camera though.
I suggest you check out some reviews on both of them to make a more informative decision on which one would suit you best. I own a few Viofo's including the A229 Plus 3-ch. The brand has been very good to me over the years in terms of reliability. The A229 Plus records 2K front & rear, 1080p interior. For my type of usage, 2K is more than ample. I also own several 70mai dash cams some older some newer... The older 70mai models had physical batteries whilst those produced in the last year and some are equipped with super-capacitors. Yes a capacitor equipped dash cam is preferred. Either way, this brand has been very good to me as well. P.S. I do not own the 70mai M800 (released in Aug 2025) so can't honestly comment on it worth. But I do have the 4K Omni X800, a 360° camera of sorts which was released in May of this year, and it's great!.
70mai is easily the best value. Different levels of video quality to choose from for different price ranges. I bought 3 of the A810 cameras, one for each of my vehicles. Super clear both in day time and night time, and they come with rear cameras too. The person warning you about wires likely has never installed a dash cam. I installed all of my cameras using one of the circle power outlets in the vehicles. Sure, I don't have continuous 24 hr surveillance but I don't really care for it. The hardest part was just tucking the wires behind the trim as nearly as possible, but even that is pretty easy. Highly recommend the brand for it's value (with the exception of their X800 or any of the overpriced egg-shaped cameras).
I use 70Mai 800s. Recommended only if you are ok to replace the battery every year. I stopped parking surveillance after 2 replacements in the past couple of years
Not really. If you want parking surveilance you have to wire from obd wires anyway (I know that camera manufactuers suggests wrapping fuses but it's fire hazard) which gives ability to connect to camera from anywhere.
Dont worry its not that hard to get fy 7omai with 4g hardwire kit from obd, it will give you ability to connect to camera anytime, as this usb port even if you have is not always hot (if I remember correctly). I did mine on 2021 atlas and it took 5-10min if even to route cable under pillar trims and that soft roof thing not much more of wire visible
I went for 70mai because 4g wire kit for parking surveilance - if you don't have garage, and/or leave car when shopping you get notification if anyone hits your car together with video, or if someone is areound your car for too long.
