I’ve had good luck with cheap Amazon specials, 70mai m300 m310. They have good customer service and dashcam reviews showed me it’s all the same crap and sensors with no real difference until you spend $$.

He's lying, just trying to get you to buy their accessory dashcam.
Just powering it through the 12v socket is no problem. But if you want 24/7 parking monitoring, then you'll have to hardwire it, which can cause warranty problems.
So if you just want normal dashcam functionality go for any 70mai model. If you want parking monitoring also, go for the dealer one, provided they have that function, confirm that.. And get proper confirmation in writing that the dealer fitting will not cause any warranty problems in the future.
You want a dashcam with a Sony Starvis 2 sensor. I have a 70mai cam and quite like it. Viofo is another good one, as is Blackvue. A good dashcam is worth its weight in gold if you ever need to use it.
