Nothing expensive for me, I just got a $30 70mai Dash Cam M310 off amazon for the legacy. I also had gotten the dongar adapter to splice power from the mirror power harness. The cam is mounted right in front of the mirror. Before the 70mai, I used 2 APEMAN Dash Cam C660 in both my cars. I think this company has changed names, but I see basically the same camera on amazon still. The 70mai is nice, it doesn't have a screen so it's smaller, and can fit in front of my rearview mirror without obstructing any of my view. I can get the files off the SD card with my phone using their app, but you have to be within the cam's "hotspot" and connected to it's network to pull the files. It doesn't use cloud or anything, but you only have to use the app or connect to the cam if you want to pull the files. Fortunately I've never needed the dashcam footage in the 4+ years I've used them, but think everyone should have them.
Check out the 70mai m310. Its pretty cheap and has good video quality
I have a 70mai, the best one in your price range would be the 70mai M310 or the 1S. I found the app easy to use. I have it powered with a Dual USB charger with a 30w output to charge my phone.
I’ve had good luck with cheap Amazon specials, 70mai m300 m310. They have good customer service and dashcam reviews showed me it’s all the same crap and sensors with no real difference until you spend $$. Source: Linus tech tips
M200 dual channel was around 7k the last time I checked. Single channel M200 is around 3.5k or 4kish. I bought a M310 when the price for it dropped below 3k. Edit: my bad my bad. [its A200 that you get for 7k.](https://amzn.in/d/hdvT3Ag)
I had a 70mai m300 before. It was good but I could not make out the license plates at night. Switched to Blackvue with rear cam.
I have a 70MAI in both our cars, the one without a screen. It works flawlessly. I have only downloaded videos twice, and the quality is good. Not HD, but good. Had it for more than a year and can not complain.
Viofo are the dogs bollocks, 70 mai are quite good and cheap. Nextbase are expensive and absolutely shite.
