"70Mai Omni lasted all summer in Austin for me ... I had another cheaper dash cam before that one and it broke after the summer heat."
"70mai are not too bad, their normal camera design allows the battery to stay reasonably cool, and they use Li Ion cells instead of Lipos."

"No, not hard at all, the camera modules are secured to the glass with a double-sided tape (comes included). ... The included cables are plenty long enough to reach from front to back."

If you want quality, and next gen 4G remote surveillance 70mai 4k Omni
70mai 4k Omni, great bit of kit
1 - Get the 70Mai Dashcam Omni 4K. Comes with dual camera (rear) recording also. That's what I have, and it's the best dash cam. Purchased from Nexdigitron India. Key is to get a camera with Starvis 2 sensor for the best day and night quality. 2 - You can get it with the OBD wiring kit. Just plugs into the OBD port under the dash. Plug and play. Bonus - super simple, and works for parking surveillance. No 12V socket needed.
I recently upgraded 70mai omni to 4K omni which appreciate with the higher quality of night vision. However, the rear cam is still 1080P, but for me its enough. Dual 4K will depends on your budget and I think if you always drive for long way might value for money.
I'm using 70mai 4k omni and there are some pros and cons hope can give you some ideas. Pros: 1. The 4k image quality present pretty well, especially in the night-time. I add the cpl as well to reduce reflection. 2. In the parking mode, the AI motion helps a lot. 3. They upgrade the battery to supercapacitor, and I'm in CA, so let's see how this works in this winter. Cons:1. I can't get 4G, so there is no notification when my car get suspicious collision. 2. if we talk in the car, the camera will turn to our side and sometimes miss the footage. So far, feel satisfied with it and no sure it is necessary to get three-channel T800.
I would suggest using a 4K dashcam. Even when a vehicle is overtaking or moving at high speed at night, a 4K dashcam may still struggle to capture the license plate clearly, so anything below 4K is basically useless. Both front and rear cameras should be 4K. Also, make sure to enable audio recording, as it can serve as valuable evidence. I use 4k 70 mai omni. Satisfied so far.
Fitcamx has a 2025 model on the way but I have the 70mai 4k Omni. It has AI tracking and the option to add a sim card for live updates to your phone. Enjoying it a lot
The 70mai A200 is on the budget spectrum of dual channel dash cams, watch [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1fatNoWEOQ) review video of the A200. I think it does quite a decent job considering it is only a 1080p dash cam setup. One of the drawbacks of 70mai dash cams has been they use a physical battery in stead of capacitors. Batteries wear out, get hot, swell, etc, you get the picture, But 70mai is slowly switching to capacitors so IMO it is a win win for everyone. In saying the above, I live in Canada and I've owned (or still own) several 70mai dash cams - ~~1S~~, M500, ~~A800S~~, A81*0*, **S500**, Omni X200 - those crossed out I no longer own, and the S500 does use a capacitor instead of a physical battery. Other than the 1S, build quality of the rest have been second to none in my opinion. Not to say the 1S was bad just that it felt/looked cheaper than all the rest. When it comes/came to their use I have absolutely no complaints with their ability to the job they were intended to do tis the reason I keep buying into the brand. P.S. Although we are quite happy with 70mai dash cam brand we aren't tied to them by any means as we also use other brands. It has more to do with us being a techno geek than anything else buuut... We are waiting on 70mai's newest release the Omni X800 LOL.
I have several... \* Viofo A119 V3 - late 2019 \* Viofo A119 Mini 2 - Jan 2024 \* Viofo A229 Plus 3-ch - Aug 2024 \* Wolfbox G900 2-ch - Nov 2022 \* Wolfbox G900 Pro 2-ch - Feb 2025... replacing the Wolfbox G900 \* 70mai M500 - Mar 2023 \* 70mai Omni X200 - Apr 2023 \* 70mai A810 2-ch - Aug 2023 \* 70mai S500 2-ch - Sept 2023 \* DDPAI Mini Pro - sometime in 2023 There are others but these are the most relevant ones.
I suggest you check out some reviews on both of them to make a more informative decision on which one would suit you best. I own a few Viofo's including the A229 Plus 3-ch. The brand has been very good to me over the years in terms of reliability. The A229 Plus records 2K front & rear, 1080p interior. For my type of usage, 2K is more than ample. I also own several 70mai dash cams some older some newer... The older 70mai models had physical batteries whilst those produced in the last year and some are equipped with super-capacitors. Yes a capacitor equipped dash cam is preferred. Either way, this brand has been very good to me as well. P.S. I do not own the 70mai M800 (released in Aug 2025) so can't honestly comment on it worth. But I do have the 4K Omni X800, a 360° camera of sorts which was released in May of this year, and it's great!.

It does, though I got mine for free so no issues for me haha. I've tested numerous Starvis 2 dashcams and this is the first that doesn't have HDR supported even though the sensor has it natively. As you say, it's a matter of firmware support and something that Wolfbox has just been in my eyes too lazy to turn on. Wolfbox has typically the market mostly to themselves when it comes to rear view mirror dashcams, so at least now they're moving the needle forward. I have the X800 on my testing bench but early units have had gimbal issues causing rattly footage, so it's not all roses here. Have to spend more time with it to get my final judgment but on paper its a big improvement from where they were just 18 months ago.
70Mai Omni lasted all summer in Austin for me and tbh is pretty easy to take off and put back on if you really wanted to, but I never did. I had another cheaper dash cam before that one and it broke after the summer heat. I just have it plugged into my USB and don’t really care about the wire but you can always get someone to install the hardwire kit.
Got the 70mai Omni dashcam nung nag sale sa Lazada for 5k. Madali lang din install, madami yourube tutorial.
I use the 70mai omni same tayo bilad din and i have clear tint 2 years na sya pero hindi naman nagkakaganyan na sobra init hindi rin natatanggal yung dikit niya.
