"70mai are not too bad, their normal camera design allows the battery to stay reasonably cool, and they use Li Ion cells instead of Lipos."

"No, not hard at all, the camera modules are secured to the glass with a double-sided tape (comes included). ... The included cables are plenty long enough to reach from front to back."

I bought the 70mai S500 and it works pretty well.
My take- Invest in a better dashcam, and get the Android screen separately! You can buy 70Mai A510 or S500 for approx £80 on Aliexpress- pretty straightforward setup, and buy these Android screens separately for £20-30 on Aliexpress. A good-quality dashcam goes a long way. I have both an A510 and an S500 on my cars. S500 also works as a rear backup camera on the Fiat 500.
Alot of people do. Rear and front dashcams are recommended, dont just get a front one. I got a xiaomi mai70, s500 model but wouldn't buy it again and don't have knowledge on other brands. Definitely get a high res one if possible, shit ones aren't worth it if they cant read plates.
The 70mai A200 is on the budget spectrum of dual channel dash cams, watch [this](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f1fatNoWEOQ) review video of the A200. I think it does quite a decent job considering it is only a 1080p dash cam setup. One of the drawbacks of 70mai dash cams has been they use a physical battery in stead of capacitors. Batteries wear out, get hot, swell, etc, you get the picture, But 70mai is slowly switching to capacitors so IMO it is a win win for everyone. In saying the above, I live in Canada and I've owned (or still own) several 70mai dash cams - ~~1S~~, M500, ~~A800S~~, A81*0*, **S500**, Omni X200 - those crossed out I no longer own, and the S500 does use a capacitor instead of a physical battery. Other than the 1S, build quality of the rest have been second to none in my opinion. Not to say the 1S was bad just that it felt/looked cheaper than all the rest. When it comes/came to their use I have absolutely no complaints with their ability to the job they were intended to do tis the reason I keep buying into the brand. P.S. Although we are quite happy with 70mai dash cam brand we aren't tied to them by any means as we also use other brands. It has more to do with us being a techno geek than anything else buuut... We are waiting on 70mai's newest release the Omni X800 LOL.
I have several... \* Viofo A119 V3 - late 2019 \* Viofo A119 Mini 2 - Jan 2024 \* Viofo A229 Plus 3-ch - Aug 2024 \* Wolfbox G900 2-ch - Nov 2022 \* Wolfbox G900 Pro 2-ch - Feb 2025... replacing the Wolfbox G900 \* 70mai M500 - Mar 2023 \* 70mai Omni X200 - Apr 2023 \* 70mai A810 2-ch - Aug 2023 \* 70mai S500 2-ch - Sept 2023 \* DDPAI Mini Pro - sometime in 2023 There are others but these are the most relevant ones.
Well, if you just want a single channel dash cam maybe have a look at the Viofo A119 Mini 2 or Viofo VS1 Mini. As for a two channel, then consider the older (released in 2020) Viofo A129 Plus Duo. All dash cams mentioned record in 2K front. Yes I am a bit partial to the brand as they have served me well over the year, "can" be reasonably priced considering feature-set, and they can easily be found on Amazon where I purchased my five two Viofo's in 2019. P.S. Viofo isn't the only brand we have used over our 15 years of dealing with dash cams. At present, besides having a Viofo A119 Mini 2 & A229 Plus 3-ch in play we are also using the 70mai m500 & S500, and the Wolfbox G900 Pro.
I suggest you check out some reviews on both of them to make a more informative decision on which one would suit you best. I own a few Viofo's including the A229 Plus 3-ch. The brand has been very good to me over the years in terms of reliability. The A229 Plus records 2K front & rear, 1080p interior. For my type of usage, 2K is more than ample. I also own several 70mai dash cams some older some newer... The older 70mai models had physical batteries whilst those produced in the last year and some are equipped with super-capacitors. Yes a capacitor equipped dash cam is preferred. Either way, this brand has been very good to me as well. P.S. I do not own the 70mai M800 (released in Aug 2025) so can't honestly comment on it worth. But I do have the 4K Omni X800, a 360° camera of sorts which was released in May of this year, and it's great!.
Can vouch. Have a 500s with th same lens
I did some research back in 2023 and ended up with a starvis 2 model from 70mai (one of only 2 that were available at the time, the other was a viofo). I’m very happy with it!
Look into Dongar connector and alike. It'll power from auto dimming mirror socket For dashcam, I like 70mai but the best kind you can get is likely one with Sony Starvis 2 sensor for optimal license plate capturing.
I got the 70mai with the starvis 2 sensor. Very happy with it
I have 70mai dual channel dash cam Working pretty well since two years Costed me around 10.5 K
70Mai is good - I've one in the CX5, front and rear cameras - and bought direct from AliExpress - retailers here sell the same thing, just for more. Do the math. Also the Viofo seem to be getting traction well - pick anything with the Sony Starvis sensor really - they're good in day and great at night.
