I have a Vantrue N4 Pro (3ch) in my car and a Baseus VD1 Pro (2ch) in my wife. If it’s your first time getting a dashcam, I’d recommend the VD1 Pro since it’s a nice balance of price/quality/easy setup. Some cheaper dashcams only record in interpolated 4K, which looks blurry compared to true 4K. Within this price range, the most important thing is to make sure the one you get has good build quality and clear recording.
I just put a Baseus VD1 Pro front and rear setup on my 2014 Camry. It was about $109 and installation was easy since it just plugs into the cigarette lighter, no hardwiring or fuse box stuff needed. After that I found out it’s 4K with a Sony Starvis sensor, and the little solar panel plus battery also let it run parking mode when the car is off, which is a nice bonus at that price.
I felt the same way about not wanting to mess with the fuse box or pop off a bunch of panels, so I started looking for something that would still look clean with a plug in setup and ended up with a Baseus VD1 Pro. It just goes into the cigarette lighter, and I used the little plastic tool in the box to tuck the cable along the headliner and down the pillar so nothing is dangling. It took a bit of time, but I didn’t have to touch the fuse box or remove any big trim pieces.
I’ve got a Baseus VD1 Pro. I think this is their first dashcam, but so far it’s been working well. I installed it recently because I was too lazy to mess with the fuse box for parking mode, and it’s been working good for my daily driving.
Just got the Baseus VD1 Pro. Has front and rear, as well as a tiny solar panel to help trickle charge the internal battery for parking monitoring.
Haha I get that, wiring can be a pain. I’m bad with installs too, so I went for something simpler. I’ve been using the baseus vd1 pro, just plug it in, no hardwire kit or complicated setup. It’s not full 360, but it records front and rear clearly and is definitely enough for daily driving.
r u looking for a dash cam within a specific budget, or do you have certain features in mind? I got baseus vd1 pro recently, the clarity is solid for both day and night recording, it uses a Sony sensor with solid night vision and HDR, so the 4K front and 1080p rear footage stays clear even after dark. And it don’t need hardwire kit just plug in the power. And the app is a snap.
