Great video & easy install, but app and SD card issues.

Absolutely this. I just installed a BlackVue DR590X-Plus 2CH with his ASC connector yesterday and everything works beautifully and I appreciate the personal touches he put into the package.
Recently joined the dashcam club with the BlackVue 590x 2 channel. Love it. Pulling up the videos from the app takes a second or two and could be faster but the peace of mind as people around me drive like hot garbage has been wonderful Connecting via the built in WiFi can be a little annoying but once you figure it out, it connects everytime
I use a BlackVue dr590x 2channel. It’s been fantastic. My wife’s accord has a FitCamX. I like it better because of its ease of install and integration into the rear view mirror sensor pack. It’s way more discreet than my BlackVue. Both are solid cameras though in my experience.
A lot of people recommend fitcamX because of the sleek install - but as a camera, especially a reliable one - it is sub par. The cam has loop recording issue and the app sucks. I have one in my wife’s car and speak from experience, especially when it failed to record a crash. Many other better options. The blackvue dr590x 2 channel is superior option in a similar price range what I have in my truck and our fuse panel in the passenger footwell has two open fuse slots for acc and hot power. Super easy install.
Pretty easy. Some people run the wires down low, I go along the upper trim. Use a voltmeter to determine which open slots in the fuse panel are 12v and acc. As the wires transition along the upper trim across the top of the windshield, you can also use little stick on wire hooks to assist keeping it in place. I used a plastic trim tool for the stuffing/wedging of the wire along the trim to get to the rear camera which is placed driver side. I have the sliding rear window which slides passenger side so the best side to place the camera is driver side. I have the camera set at 12.5v cutoff.
Fitcam is very mediocre. A blackvue is superior from a device/app/reliability standpoint. I have mine installed and i can’t see it from the driver seat so I would say that is discrete.
Older cam? My previous blackvue died but it was in service for 7 years and was an older model with poor cooling. My new one tells me when starts recording, changes mode, has an event or has a problem with the card - so if I don’t hear the prompts then I know something is off.
Fitcam failed us on the wife’s car when she was in a wreck. It’s loop recording stopped without any way for us to know. I would not purchase another and their software and app suck compared to other options. People like it because it installs easy but it is mediocre. A Blackvue dr590 is way better and still easy to install especially since Ford gave us functioning spare fuse slots for both acc and batt+.
Blackvue LTE cams are the best option, and a range of plans for access if you are looking for live view anywhere. If you just want to view in the car anything of their cams other than the 5 series.
The Blackvue DR590X is the usual go to for the least obtrusive. I have a knockoff version from Focuway but I would not recommend it unless you're really strapped for cash.
