I’ve been using Blackvue for a while now, and for me the DR750S-2CH checks all the boxes.

I've used Blackvue for years and found that the DR750S-2CH fits my needs well. I hardwired mine to the battery even though the installation was a bit tricky. The footage quality on both channels has held up through various conditions, and I appreciate the consistent performance.

Just picked up the Elite 8 and it’s been ok so far, not the clearest image and I felt my DR750S-2CH front camera was clearer at reading license plates. So far I’d recommend and take advantage of hardwiring for the low current parking mode which I haven’t completed yet.

As a long time Blackvue user of a DR750S in my own car, I would say both are worth it. There are not really better and much cheaper options than the newer Blackvue models that have the same quality or reliability. The DR770x plus is going to meet the needs unless you're willing to pay a premium to get a bit more video quality, and if that's the case the Thinkware U3000 is likely to be a more attractive option and a bit less money. You can buy Thinkware anywhere and get decent warranty/support, but BlackBoxMyCar is the only place I'd by current Blackvue (or if you believe others, Viofo) due to warranty and support challenges in Canada. Visions typically has black friday and boxing day sales on older models. There can be decent savings.

Eventually the capacitors and RTC battery will fail. Blackvue and Thinkware tend to see that start occurring after the 5 year mark. The camera will often still run, but will shutdown immediately losing the current video segment. I have a pair of old Blackvue 750s still going strong, but their days are numbered. There's a fair number of things to go wrong with dash cams. Garmin consumer cams rarely make it beyond two years, with capacitors rarely being the cause.

I treat a dashcam on the same level as insurance. Any dashcam is better than none. But a good quality one is better. I was in a Not a Fault car accident where my car was deemed as a total loss 2 months ago. (I was rear ended at a red light) the insurance company paid me out 6 business days after the accident. I had uploaded my dashcam footage to their website so there is no argument who is at fault. Talking to other people it took a month or 2 to get paid out. I had a blackvue 750s 2 channel that I bought in 2017 and thought it died in 2024. That's 7 years! (And due to the way I instslled it, 20 hours per day of recording) When I replaced it, it turned out that the 2 sd cards I had were both faulty causing me issues. My new car will have the new 2 channel dashcam as front and rear. And the old 2 channel dashcam as left and right cameras.

I bought my Blackvue 750 in 2019. It failed after about three years and they fixed it for about $100.00. it still seems to be doing fine. I live in Arizona and while I use a garage and don't have to park in the sun all the time, it still gets really hot in the car.

For clarification: Are you looking for a camera to check your surroundings? Or a dash cam to record the crazy drivers who cut you off or run into you? I can't recommend a back up camera, but for a dash cam I have always used blackvues. Owned a 750 and a 970 for different cars and they're both great. You can creep on my post history to see some of my footage.

I really like my BlackVue. I have an older 750 and a newer 950, not sure what models they have now. I don't mess with the cloud storage or the batteries, I run off the car battery. They record 24/7 to the front and I added my own storage, were easy enough to install myself if you know how to watch some youtube.

Bought a blackvue dual front & back camera with parking mode. Watched YouTube videos of day and night performance and readability of license plates. Video clips are corded in 60 second increments with overlap start and finish. Last month got rear ended by person on the phone. They didn’t know I had a camera and they called the cops. I downloaded the event clip from the mobile app and was able to show the video to the police on the spot. The other driver got a ticket for using the phone.

I got the best one at the time, which was around $1000 for the dashcam and $300 for the battery pack. But Black Vue sell all sorts, just make sure you have a dual cam, that is front and rear.

I have a BlackVue front and rear on my 2025 Outback. I’m not a car guy and I installed it all myself; was pretty easy. Only thing was I forgot to untuck some slack for the wire attached to the rear camera, and when I Opened the trunk it ripped the wire out of the cam and damaged it so I had to order a new one. But both work great and I would 100% get front and rear.

I run the BlackVue two channel and have it hardwired to the fuse box. Run all the cords through the head liner and side pillars. It’s pretty hidden almost to the point I forget it’s there. The rear camera is visible but very small and cords are running through the headliner so you only see it when it’s coming out direct to the camera (an inch or two of exposed cord).

Currently using a Blackvue two-channel model on our 2021 XV. Never had any issues. Dashcam is married to a Blackvue B112 battery that keeps the dashcam independent of the car battery and can run the dashcam for up to 12 hours whilst parked. https://preview.redd.it/tr3bu7gr8gbf1.jpeg?width=3000&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=29a03356c531767120add2fceb922c5efee4258a

We use Blackvue in both our cars - two channel models for front and rear cam. My car's dashcam is married to Blackvue B124X battery to allow the dashcam to run whilst parked for up to 24 hours, and my other half's car runs the same dashcam but on a B112 battery which is the same technology, but smaller, only allowing the dashcam to operate for up to 12 hours whilst parked.

Blackvue 2 chanel camera. Get it with WiFi but no need for cellular connection as that is for people who operate fleets like taxis. Can get them with 1080 front and rear or 4k front with 1080 rear. It's a camera that you fit and forget until you need it then you just use the app on your phone to download the videos immediately.

Blackboxmycar.com and Vortex Radar on YouTube do amazing reviews and comparisons. I have a Blackvue 2 channel in my wagon and just put a Viofo A329s 3 channel in my new daily. Dual mode hybrid parking recording and lots of nice features on the viofo. Though I prefer the form factor of the blackvue.

I have a blackvue 2 channel system. Had it.... 5 or 6 years now. Been solid - never comes out of my truck other than to pull videos a couple times a year. Lens still in good condition etc. This was from yesterday. Just make sure you get a good quality SD Card - dash cams are hard on them. There's an Audi dashcam? Hmm.. I have a blackvue 2 channel camera which is very nice and sleek. It hides well on the front and rear window. My only gripes are: 1) The app. It's a complete pain in the ass to view any footage and it won't update the firmware because the dashcam connects to my phone via wifi and if it's connected via wifi, there's not any actual Internet access from the cellular signal so it can never update 🤣 what a joke. There are other ways to update the firmware, but I can't be bothered lol And 2) it records in minute increments, which makes viewing footage a pain. There are an enormous number of files associated with a day of driving. Other than those 2 points, it's a great dashcam and overall, I do recommend it.

I had one failure of my 12v about 3 months after install. I'm unsure if it was related to the dashcam, but I haven't had an issue since...and nothing noticeable on battery life. The picture is phenomenal... And I installed it myself too, which is saying something. I'm not the best at DIY projects.... But couldnt stomach a $600-$800 install cost I was finding.

Something like a Viofo or Blackvue 2ch (with a hardwire kit) is what you're seeking. I personally run Viofo's A129 Duo (there's a much newer variant of this, the A229).

Yeah the app sucks. It's so easy to pull footage with the SD and an [OTG USBC reader](https://imgur.com/a/B3vuSbR) though. Gotta go with Blackvue or Thinkware for a quality app level experience. But that comes at an extra cost.

The only thing I would be tempted to get is the Window tint, only if you have ambient lighting in the car. Only because, if something goes wrong then the dealer is liable for the installation and subsequent repair, and they can’t claim any further issues with warranty. For the price they’re quoting you, that should be ceramic tint too. Everything else is over priced. I had a 2channel BlackVue installed for under $1k (Including cost of cameras). The paint protection can be done later too.
