"And I installed it myself too, which is saying something. I'm not the best at DIY projects...."

"hardwiring it to my battery was a smooth process"

"I’m not a car guy and I installed it all myself; was pretty easy."

"I bought my Blackvue 750 in 2019. It failed after about three years and they fixed it for about $100.00. it still seems to be doing fine. I live in Arizona and while I use a garage and don't have to park in the sun all the time, it still gets really hot in the car."

"Last month got rear ended by person on the phone. ... I downloaded the event clip from the mobile app and was able to show the video to the police on the spot. ... The other driver got a ticket for using the phone."

"I have no issues with the app personally. ... They have made some large strides with it in the last couple of years. ... The main issue I had with it previously was it was a bit slow and clunky. That has since improved considerably. ... You can get straight into your camera and do the business of reviewing and downloading footage quickly and ignore the rest of the app if you want."

"But both work great and I would 100% get front and rear."

"A 2-channel will also have a wire that runs to the back window. ... The first camera I owned was a 1-channel because I owned a Jeep with a soft top. But now that I have a car, I upgraded to a 2 channel with a rear facing camera. ... Here's one that I like. Blackvue 750x-2ch"

"The app. It's a complete pain in the ass to view any footage ... it won't update the firmware because the dashcam connects to my phone via wifi and if it's connected via wifi, there's not any actual Internet access from the cellular signal so it can never update 🤣 what a joke."

"I experienced horrible customer service with BlackVue when rear cam in 2 cam setup died 50 weeks into 52 week warranty period."

I’ve been happy with Blackvue’s DR750 setup because the footage looks clear, especially at night.

I've used BlackVue for a while now, and my current setup is the DR750X-2CH. My experience with it has been pretty solid, especially since it fits my need for a hard-wired, dual-channel setup.

With coupon, $119. I have three, one in each of my cars. Touch screen, and some voice commands. Great customer service too. Previously owned Blackvue 750-2CH, always overheating. https://www.amazon.com/REDTIGER-Screen-Parking-Monitor-F7N/dp/B0C6YBHKJ5

I've used BlackVue dash cams for a while and have found that the DR750X2 meets my needs perfectly. It records both front and rear views, and hardwiring it to my battery was a smooth process.

I wouldn't say "out of sight" for mine either but Blackvue(at least the older ones) have been relatively good for me. I have the 750x model but I plan to upgrade. 1080p sony camera, dual channel and a night mode. The app isn't great, and you may need to change the sim card to a name brand instead but it's almost lasted me 8 years, and 3 car upgrades. Went from 2016 WRX, to 2012 350, to finally ISF. Currently using add-a-fuse method for power. Simple as sticking your cameras on, plugging in power, and then figuring out which fuse is constant and accessories in the fuse box with lowest interference then tucking in the wires.

For clarification: Are you looking for a camera to check your surroundings? Or a dash cam to record the crazy drivers who cut you off or run into you? I can't recommend a back up camera, but for a dash cam I have always used blackvues. Owned a 750 and a 970 for different cars and they're both great. You can creep on my post history to see some of my footage.

I really like my BlackVue. I have an older 750 and a newer 950, not sure what models they have now. I don't mess with the cloud storage or the batteries, I run off the car battery. They record 24/7 to the front and I added my own storage, were easy enough to install myself if you know how to watch some youtube.

Eventually the capacitors and RTC battery will fail. Blackvue and Thinkware tend to see that start occurring after the 5 year mark. The camera will often still run, but will shutdown immediately losing the current video segment. I have a pair of old Blackvue 750s still going strong, but their days are numbered. There's a fair number of things to go wrong with dash cams. Garmin consumer cams rarely make it beyond two years, with capacitors rarely being the cause.
