Second for Blackvue, but a DR-750X 3ch is what I have. I also have a Blendmount rearview mirror mount for the front/main camera body.
Finances is fair -- the market for dashcams is massive now. There are some new ones for less than $50 out there. The used market is massive with endless deals less than $100. For example, I'm about to list my Blackvue 750x Plus 3ch for $100 (MSRP is between $400-$500).. We spent about $100 on our first one and it saved us $500 within the first year with our deductible.
when you say interior are you thinking of NOT having a rear cam? I assume you do not in which case you need a 3-cam system. Blackvue has the best low-profile that I know of but I had issues with their lousy/unresponsive support so had to go with one that has a screen. ended up with a 2-cam viofo and it’s a lot lower profile than I anticipated…fits pretty well behind my 2014 Accord mirror. you can turn the screen off completely and use the app - which is what I do since the screen is tucked up behind the mirror (the screen can be turned off/on by voice command which is nice). but yes…you need 3-cam which will run you a bit more!
Blackvue are a little spendy but the low profile is nice and the app is really good. I have a 750x plus front and rear.
I’ve got a BlackVue 750X Plus, wouldn’t recommend. Video quality is pretty average. The focus on this model seems to become short sighted and makes the videos pretty useless. They also say you can only use their brand of SD card in the camera or you’ll have issues. Their cards are way over priced when compared to SanDisk or Samsung. Think this model has been discontinued now, probably for the best.
I wouldn't say "out of sight" for mine either but Blackvue(at least the older ones) have been relatively good for me. I have the 750x model but I plan to upgrade. 1080p sony camera, dual channel and a night mode. The app isn't great, and you may need to change the sim card to a name brand instead but it's almost lasted me 8 years, and 3 car upgrades. Went from 2016 WRX, to 2012 350, to finally ISF. Currently using add-a-fuse method for power. Simple as sticking your cameras on, plugging in power, and then figuring out which fuse is constant and accessories in the fuse box with lowest interference then tucking in the wires.
They're easy to install, follow any YouTube video and you'll get it right. I've had the blackvue 750x which I found to have low video quality and ability to capture license plates and details. My vantrue n4 pro blows it out the park in all those qualities and more. I would definitely look at video comparisons between multiple, would not cheap out on a dashcam but there is no need to spend outrageous amounts. I found vantrue to have very affordable and good line ups and recommend them.
BlackVue DR750X's parking mode delivers, consistent footage in parking lots, no hassle with extras.
I bought my Blackvue 750 in 2019. It failed after about three years and they fixed it for about $100.00. it still seems to be doing fine. I live in Arizona and while I use a garage and don't have to park in the sun all the time, it still gets really hot in the car.
I really like my BlackVue. I have an older 750 and a newer 950, not sure what models they have now. I don't mess with the cloud storage or the batteries, I run off the car battery. They record 24/7 to the front and I added my own storage, were easy enough to install myself if you know how to watch some youtube.
