Finances is fair -- the market for dashcams is massive now. There are some new ones for less than $50 out there. The used market is massive with endless deals less than $100. For example, I'm about to list my Blackvue 750x Plus 3ch for $100 (MSRP is between $400-$500).. We spent about $100 on our first one and it saved us $500 within the first year with our deductible.

The built-in dashcam is garbage. It only records one view and has no audio. It also doesn't record when parked. Yes, it activates if someone crashes into you when parked but its pretty useless. I've got a BlackVue hardwired dashcam and it's really good.

No idea how much it costs now, but I'm in Australia and I got mine when I got my car in August 2020, its been perfect so far, no rattles/stuff loosening up, no visible wires. Everything installed (including the price of the dashcam and battery pack for parking mode) was AU$950 (US$640).

It's good but finer details become hard to see when it gets really dark.

I’ve got a two year old dash cam I put in my 24’ Sport BlackVue 750x E2CE76 front and back I paid a hefty price for it when I got it but it’s saved me in a T-bone accident so it’s more than worth it! I can connect via local WiFi to it and save snippets of my drive to a device without removing a memory card. It does audio and video. BestBuy did the install for $100? Maybe $90? Hangs right below the eyesight and rear light I don’t even know they’re there anymore

I recommend blackvue because their cameras are nice and sleek and the app works well. I have the 750x front and rear which has pretty good quality. Not crazy expensive and easy to install and hide wires. Between the included wire clips and tucking I didn't have to remove any panels except for the little end cap on the driver's side of the dash to attach the ground cable to a bolt. The only thing you need besides the included install kit are some micro2 style fuse taps.

I bought my Blackvue 750 in 2019. It failed after about three years and they fixed it for about $100.00. it still seems to be doing fine. I live in Arizona and while I use a garage and don't have to park in the sun all the time, it still gets really hot in the car.

Blackvue 750. I had it installed. Super clean look. Getting vids off of it is pretty easy.

For clarification: Are you looking for a camera to check your surroundings? Or a dash cam to record the crazy drivers who cut you off or run into you? I can't recommend a back up camera, but for a dash cam I have always used blackvues. Owned a 750 and a 970 for different cars and they're both great. You can creep on my post history to see some of my footage.

Bought a Blackvue dr750x 4 years ago and it's still running great. It probably has 100,000 miles on it at this point. (I drive a lot for work) Then bought a Blackvue dr900 2 channel for another car in the family and that is also going strong. No issues with either.

My BlackVue DR 750x is still going strong 4 years later.

I have a BlackVue 750 in my ‘19 installed right after I got it and its quality is great and I highly recommend it but it is pricey. That usb adapter is a game changer though I am sharing that with all my family for when they get dash cams!

For fleet we often do blackvue DR-series with a tamperproof case. That way, it can not be unplugged. Some options for LTE models for remote viewing capabilities. Pricing will vary depending on where you are.
