Depends on budget and preference of tech. I have Blackvue DR770X LTE Front and rear. Its hardwired, has auto cut out for low battery ans is always record except auto cut out. It condsenses clips into 1/2 minites when driving and has motion and impact. It uses a SIM card you have to pay monthly for to send clips direct to an app you have and you can view and save direct to phone You can also do live view if you want to wake it up. Its pricey but good
Blackvue DR770X LTE Expensive and has a pay monthly sim but its great. Good picture quality day and night, front and rear, hardwired, impact and motion recording. It automatically records during journeys and condenses it into 1 or 2 min chunks. They get uploaded to an app you can watch and download. Just wish the app didnt have such a short time frame to do it from, I.e videos from the morning may get overwritten by evening
What's your budget? I have a BlackVue DR770X LTE Front and rear It's pricey, hardwired and saves/loads clips via an app so you need a cheap sim card for the camera to upload it from via data/WiFi But its bloody good
Blackvue DR770X LTE Pretty happy, could do without the monthly sim card payment and wish the footage lasted longer on the app before overwritting but works well
I get family who need help Blackvue cloud cams, and they them up to connect to the hotspot on their phones. When there's an issue I just need to walk them through enabling the hotspot on their phone, then I can access the camera remotely to help them.
Blackvue LTE cams are the best option, and a range of plans for access if you are looking for live view anywhere. If you just want to view in the car anything of their cams other than the 5 series.
I cant drive without a dashcam. I have one in all my cars. Dont go for the BMW one though. You will get much better value for money going with a good aftermarket brand. I use Blackvue 770x 2-ch. it has a built in parking mode so wont drain your battery.
I use BlackVue. I really like the fact that I can do remote live view and gps tracking at all times. I’m getting the elite 10 next month
I have the 770 2 channel , and I love it. Good quality even if it’s 5 years old. I have mine hard wired and hooked up with the lte module for remote live view and cloud playback. It’s a great camera , records everything, easy interface. The only con is paying for live view option, it’s 7.99 per month but besides that it’s worth it. The new Elite 10 BlackVue option is out I recommend buying that one if you are going to join the BlackVue family. If you’re in southern California my guy who installs them also offers unlimited data SIM cards for $15/month (you will need to pay up front for the year) this is a big plus.
I can speak highly for the model we got in our recent new car purchase. BlackVue DR770X-2Ch. Didn’t got for the 970x, and am quite happy with the 770X. Bought it on one of the sales at Autobarn for $599, and an additional $300 install for an Auto Electrician to install it. Considering what Car dealers can charge, this was a bargain for me. Good luck with whatever you choose.
The only thing I would be tempted to get is the Window tint, only if you have ambient lighting in the car. Only because, if something goes wrong then the dealer is liable for the installation and subsequent repair, and they can’t claim any further issues with warranty. For the price they’re quoting you, that should be ceramic tint too. Everything else is over priced. I had a 2channel BlackVue installed for under $1k (Including cost of cameras). The paint protection can be done later too.
Love your username. I recommend the BlackVue-DR770X. Works great and lasts even with the hot heat of an Alabama car.
