BlackVue Box IR is a good option as the cameras are locked in place and the memory card is stored in a box which you can lock and hide under the seat, so the driver cannot just unplug it.

Depending on the dash cam some will eat power for breakfast. To know how long you can have parking mode for will depend on that, the condition of your battery and how many events get triggered. I tested the Thinkeate U3000, BlackVue DR770X Box, VIOFO A129 Plus Duo, and Akeeyo EYES AI dash cams to show how much power is used by each in parking mode. Watch for more info: https://youtu.be/52nfmtyEEQ8 I also am trying to use a solar panel to potentially have unlimited parking mode. Find out more about the solar dash cam project here: https://youtu.be/BI-fhD5w0m8

I use the blackvue 770 box front, rear and inside plus panic button. Small separate cameras hooked up to the central unit which is a locked box. I keep mine in my dash behind glove box. You can get an LTE module for cloud access and GPS tracking. Plus if someone tries to rip a camera out and manages to disconnect it from from the box then a loud noise sounds. It's a bit expensive but we'll worth it

when you say interior are you thinking of NOT having a rear cam? I assume you do not in which case you need a 3-cam system. Blackvue has the best low-profile that I know of but I had issues with their lousy/unresponsive support so had to go with one that has a screen. ended up with a 2-cam viofo and it’s a lot lower profile than I anticipated…fits pretty well behind my 2014 Accord mirror. you can turn the screen off completely and use the app - which is what I do since the screen is tucked up behind the mirror (the screen can be turned off/on by voice command which is nice). but yes…you need 3-cam which will run you a bit more!

Blackvue box models mount the recorder out of sight, and make it harder to try and rip out, so are a good fit .

Blackvue Box cams are great for convertibles. The cameras are small, and the recording unit mounts separately. VHB holds the cam securely to the wind blocker, back of the headrest, etc., and they just dangle from the cable when they do fall off.

Thinkware has a higher heat tolerance. Blackvue Box is also a great choice in the heat.

Blackvue box models are your best option. * One of the better options for 4g cameras. * Not easy to rip off the window and toss by the thief.

>rear view replacement any good None are great. I like the Blackvue box models for college kids. Recording unit mounts separately. The Thinkware Q200 is a great starting point for a basic cam.

Love your username. I recommend the BlackVue-DR770X. Works great and lasts even with the hot heat of an Alabama car.

This is what I use too, and highly recommend it. Today seemed especially fucky on 280, always fun to go back through the videos and relive the experience. Lol

I had a head on collision last year in my 23 Platinum. Without the dashcam, I would have had to put the claim on my policy as the other driver said I was over the center line. I opened up my cellphone and showed the officer the dashcam video and the other driver wanted to climb in a hole. Totaled the truck with 7k miles on it. The point is the $350 dashcam saved me lots of money. It's a Blackvue front and rear. My replacement Platinum now has the same camera installed.
