"I appreciate how reliable it is for both regular driving and when parked."

"it’s been solid for my needs."

"We use Blackvue, two channel for front and rear, and married to a B124X battery to allow the dashcam to run whilst parked for up to 24 hours independently of the car battery."

"Last month got rear ended by person on the phone. ... I downloaded the event clip from the mobile app and was able to show the video to the police on the spot. ... The other driver got a ticket for using the phone."

"automatically connect to your phone"

"I have no issues with the app personally. ... They have made some large strides with it in the last couple of years. ... The main issue I had with it previously was it was a bit slow and clunky. That has since improved considerably. ... You can get straight into your camera and do the business of reviewing and downloading footage quickly and ignore the rest of the app if you want."

"My DR900S from 2018 through 2025 had HDR. ... HDR is not a fad, passing trend, or conspiracy pushed by Alex Jones. It the most basic item a camera must have to be useful at capturing details like license plates."

"The picture is phenomenal..."

"I used the BlackVue in one accident and the insurance company said it was the highest quality video they ever saw. ... A lot of people own dash cams, how many have had to use theirs in a major collision that resulted in a multi million dollar lawsuit as I am dealing with now. Without that DC I would be screwed."

"But both work great and I would 100% get front and rear."

"just make sure you have a dual cam, that is front and rear."

"The app. It's a complete pain in the ass to view any footage ... it won't update the firmware because the dashcam connects to my phone via wifi and if it's connected via wifi, there's not any actual Internet access from the cellular signal so it can never update 🤣 what a joke."

"The app is bunk."

"it was a bit slow and clunky."

"the footage only lasts for 24hrs so if I don’t download it that day it’s gone forever"

"it records in minute increments, which makes viewing footage a pain. ... There are an enormous number of files associated with a day of driving."

I’ve had a good experience with the BlackVue DR900S-2CH because the front camera is sharp and the app is straightforward.

I’ve been using the Blackvue DR900S-2CH for a while now and it’s been solid for my needs. The video quality is crisp, and the hard-wiring setup to my battery was pretty straightforward.

I've been using Blackvue for a while, and my go-to model has been the DR900S-2CH. The picture quality, even in low light, really impresses me, and hardwiring it to my battery was a smooth process.

I upgraded to the Blackvue DR900S-2CH not too long ago, and it's been solid for me. The video quality is crisp even at night, and the hard wiring to my battery was pretty straightforward. I appreciate how reliable it is for both regular driving and when parked. If you’re already liking Blackvue, this model might be the upgrade you're looking for.

This was my 3rd Blackvue and my 900S Dual Channel from 2020 just kicked the bucket. Same as OP my rear camera will no longer be seen my Dashcam. I think I am saying "Adios" to Blackvue and going to look for something better or at least more reliable.

A little out of your price range but 70mai A810 is really good. I have it on most of my cars. I have a couple of A800s, which are pretty good (and closer to your budget) and a BlackVue 900s and 900x. BlackVue cameras are good quality but the app is so bad. I’m considering replacing both my BlackVue with the upcoming 70mai T800 camera (they are having a Kickstarter now - launches in August 2025)

Been using my BlackVue 900S since 2018. Back from when I was driving a 2017 Toyota 86. I've since have transferred it over two cars until this one

RedTiger from Amazon Doesn’t have the blackvue price tag and runs fine so far after 8 months on the missus’ car. Mind you my blackvue 900S on my car is still working great after 4 years.

At the moment, Blackvue is no longer a good recommendation. My DR900S from 2018 through 2025 had HDR. My DR970X Plus from JAN 2025 through JAN 2025 does NOT have HDR and is being returned immediately. HDR is not a fad, passing trend, or conspiracy pushed by Alex Jones. It the most basic item a camera must have to be useful at capturing details like license plates. Without HDR you might as well replace the recorded footage with the Windows 98 Bezier screensaver and extra-long mouse cursor trails. Recording a grainy blur in 4K is a high-quality grainy blur but it's still a grainy blur.

This is pretty much what I did. But I have the dedicated battery in the glove box and it’s being charged using the hidden cigarette lighter. Wires are tucked in the A pillar and the roof to the back camera. I have BlackVue dr900 2ch with the B-124X battery. This setup lasted overnight easily. Estimated 16 hours in the app but probably less. It required about 30 mins of driving to recharge from 0. The Viofo cameras are a great option too.
