"The app. It's a complete pain in the ass to view any footage ... it won't update the firmware because the dashcam connects to my phone via wifi and if it's connected via wifi, there's not any actual Internet access from the cellular signal so it can never update 🤣 what a joke."

"The app is bunk."

"the footage only lasts for 24hrs so if I don’t download it that day it’s gone forever"

ive my my Blackvue DR900X Dual Channel (front and rear) for almost 3 years now its great, has a great picture, plus its small and doesn't stick out much hindering your view, but they are pricey, i got mine for 200 off the price with end of year sales

I've had a Blackvue DR900X 2-channel (front and rear) for years. Had it hardwired into my M235i, pulled it out when I traded that in for my i4, and have been using it in the i4 for almost 3 years. I haven't hardwired it in to the i4 because I've been super lazy so I've only been using the front camera, and the 12v outlet. Whatever I get when this lease ends in May next year will get it hardwired in front and rear again. The picture quality is great, and although I used to really hate the app, they have made improvements recently that have made it better. I've also heard great things about Viofo dashcams, but have never used one.

I’m running the BlackVue 900X 2 channel running on a external battery so that it will continue to record while it’s parked. 4k front video & 1080p rear

I have it wire to an external battery. The external battery only pulls power from the car when I drive. When in park mode the dash cam will run & pull power off the external battery. Once the external battery dies the dash cam will just stop recording. My memory chip is 125 so the camera will rewrite over the older footage after about 11 hours

I upgraded from an older BlackVue to the DR900X 2CH and it’s been rock solid. The front 4K camera captures every detail even at night and the rear 2K unit makes reading license plates a breeze.

I've used the DR900X-2CH and appreciate its clear video and ease of hard wiring. It delivers reliable coverage on all my drives.

Still have my BlackVue DR900X 2 channel from my 2019 Sport. Custom mount behind/below the mirror. Still works great.

r/SubaruForesterAnybody use a dashcam or have any recommendations for one?

I have a DR900X 2 channel with an external battery in my 2025 Sport. BlackVue is not cheap but in 5 years and 2 cars I've never had an issue.

I have a somewhat older DR900X 2 channel. Excellent camera. 2nd Forester for the camera.

I had a BlackVue 2 channel in my 2019 Sport and moved it to my 2025 Sport when I traded for it. The camera was hardwired in both cases. If you entertain the idea of a parking camera get a separate battery for the camera. You'll get better recording life.

I have had a Blackvue 900X in my 2022 ORP and love it. Rear view came in handy a few months ago. Check my post history in r/dashcams.

A little out of your price range but 70mai A810 is really good. I have it on most of my cars. I have a couple of A800s, which are pretty good (and closer to your budget) and a BlackVue 900s and 900x. BlackVue cameras are good quality but the app is so bad. I’m considering replacing both my BlackVue with the upcoming 70mai T800 camera (they are having a Kickstarter now - launches in August 2025)

The DR900X. Had it on my previous vehicle. Was a little bit of a PIA to fish the cable down the a pillar but once I got to where the wiring harness runs along the bottom of the jam, it was pretty easy to fish it all the way to the back to hook up the rear cam.

I bought a used BlackVue off of eBay (so slightly more affordable, but still expensive) and it’s been doing great in the heat. Have been running it for 3 years. DR900X
