If you want what works for daily driving and road trips without overthinking it, I’d look at Viofo or 70mai first. Best bang for buck right now is probably the [70mai A810](https://amzn.to/4ri7KOm) has a 4K front cam, optional rear cam. Good clarity, decent night performance, easy app. It’s kind of the “set it and forget it” option. If you want something a bit nicer with better video quality and reliability, [Viofo A329](https://amzn.to/4ktefuY) is hard to beat. Super clear 4K, great night performance, and it’s a brand a lot of dashcam nerds trust. If budget isn’t tight and you want front + rear with top-tier quality, [BlackVue DR970X](https://amzn.to/4tNATmi) or [Vantrue N4 Pro](https://amzn.to/4cwvtFM) are solid, but they’re pricier. Main thing: get at least 4K front, add a rear cam if possible, and buy a high-endurance SD card. After that, most modern dashcams are pretty plug-and-play.
I running blackvue lte 2ch running of a battery pack also blackvue. No issues with car battery dying. Easy set up..
I've got a Blackvue DR970x-2ch. The newer version of it is the DR979x-2ch Plus II. This has the Sony Starvis 2 sensor like recommended in other posts. They're very reliable cameras since they don't have batteries in them. Dash Cams with batteries stand a higher chance of exploding in the heat of a parked car. Make sure you use a high endurance micro sd card since the camera deletes the oldest videos as time goes by. The card will have a ton of reads and writes so the basic cards won't cut it. You set the cameras up with your phone and the images from the cameras will show on the screen. This is how you'll align the cameras to make sure they get the best view. Check the videos on the card or the live feed from the cameras from time to time to make sure everything is still working.

I use Blackvue dashcams with cloud backup. [https://blackvue.com/](https://blackvue.com/)
The WIFI connectivity in any dashcam is strictly to provide a faster data transfer speeds when accessing your recorded video clips on the camera. The use of bluetooth is too slow to stream or download large video files. Bluetooth on a dashcam is primarily for pairing your smartphone with the dashcam. In the event of an accident, having Wifi on your dashcam enables you to download the recorded clip onto your smartphone so that you can show it the cop when they show up and prove you are not at fault. In order for your dashcam to access the internet, it would require a cellular sim card connection or for some dashcams an LTE module. Most new dashcam user associate WIFI with Internet. Which is misleading. I use the the BlackVue DR970X-2CH Plus II 4K with Front & Rear camera. I also use the included app to download the clips. My dashcam wifi is turned off after each use.
For great cloud connectivity and remote live viewin, I bought a Blackvue DR970X-2CH LTE PLUS for my 23 Forester Wilderness and had Best Buy geek squad install it for $100 ..but they won't install dash cameras that have a screen on them because of safety reasons and I'm glad I didn't get one of those.
