I have a blackvue cam which I've used different models on my previous and now 2026 outback. I posted an installation guide if interested. https://www.reddit.com/r/subaruoutback/comments/1pweqn0/blackvue_elite_10_and_b130a_dashcam_install_on/
What is your budget? Blackvue make the best (they service the professional and consumer markets) and they just announced a new Elite 10 model with front and rear 4K cameras which can run in parking mode for months without draining the car battery. They also have the Elite 8 (2K/2K) and 9 (4K/2k) with the same low power draw in parking mode. Not cheap, but they are quality items.
> Wife doesn’t want an “obtrusive” webcam (I put a thinkcam u3000pro up and she said flat no) Where did you stick it? Was it on the passenger side or in her line of sight? >Is the lack of starvis2 a real issue? Only at night, in bad weather, and occasionally really bright conditions. >And I really want a parking mode… Then fitcam isn't a viable option Blackvue Elite 10 or a box model are much smaller and equivalent to the u3000.
Wow that price is criminal. Go to a local car audio/ auto electrician shop. They'll install it for a couple hundy, plus of course the cost of the product its self. I got a top of the range blackview fully installed front and back 4k for just over 1000 bucks
looking to buy a dashcam for my boyfriend as a gift. id like to stay around 200 but im willing to consider something more pricey. I currently have a blackvue with front and rear cameras and although I loved it at first, my rear camera went out last year and I dont love that it only saves videos in 60 second increments. I have been doing a lot of research on forums and saw a lot of people recommend viofo, blackvue and Garmin. but when I go on tiktok or Instagram a brand called red tiger is EVERYWHERE. is that brand reputable? is it a common thing to have videos save 60 seconds at a time? I have also read that having the front camera in 4k is important and the rear cam can be less?? idk im trying to make sense of things im not too familiar with. overall I just want something nice, not too bulky and reliable. any advice is appreciated thank you!
I have two BlackVue 2-channel cameras and both have been reliable. Would go with them again. Also, important to use high endurance cards rated for continuous writes.
