While I completely agree with your friend. Maybe consider the warranty as well? Someone posted last week na yung ddpai z40 niya lumubo after 1 year and 3 months (out of warranty). I myself have ddpai z50 and z40 with rear cams. Malinaw ang nababasa yung plate ng car sa harap kahit walang streetlights
I’m in a similar situation, driving a company box truck where management pretends “nothing ever happens on the road”. A few months back, a car cut me off while I was merging, slammed the brakes, and then tried to blame me for rear-ending them. Luckily I had my own dash cam rolling… well, I would have, if it hadn’t overheated earlier that day. That’s when I decided never again. I picked up the DDPAI Z50 Pro after that. It’s small enough to pop on right before my shift, then I just unplug and throw it in my bag afterward. Night footage is clean enough to catch plates in dark alleys when I’m doing late drops, and the app connection is super quick if I need to review something right away. Haven’t had a “brake-check hero” try anything since… but if they do, I’m ready now. If you want a bit more clarity, the Z60 Pro is basically the same experience, just sharper video. Totally worth the peace of mind when the company won’t cover you.
I’ve been down this road, if you want something reliable and not too expensive, I’d suggest checking out a DDPAI dashcam. I’m using one and it’s been solid: good video quality, app works well, and the parking-mode/back-up protection gives peace of mind. If you go cheap and off-brand, just make sure you know what you’re getting, I’ve heard too many stories of dashcams overheating or recording terrible video. A known brand (and a dual-channel unit) is usually worth it over a bargain bin cam.
ddpai, kahit ano model nila maganda pero gamit namin is z50 ata un i dont remember
Personally I think Blackvue is stupidly expensive for what you get. DDPAI is a pretty solid alternative at half the price, and the SR overlay you can get on the footage is incredibly useful if you do need the evidence. There's Navman which has a pretty sucky app and honestly not up there against the DDPAI. Even Viofo would be a better bang for buck than Blackvue.
I have a Z50 Pro in one of the cars and it's been reliable. Haven't tested it under a hard impact though. Night footage out of the front camera is fine. The rear isn't too shabby but it's not the same resolution as the front so it does have have some limits. The interior .. good enough for what it is.
I’ve got dark tint on my car too and had the same concern about whether a dash cam could record clearly at night. I went with the DDPAI Z50 Pro and was honestly impressed. The night footage is sharp even through the tint, and it handles glare and headlights way better than I expected. The camera turns on automatically with the car, and I used their OBD hardwire kit for parking mode, but USB works just fine too. It’s sleek enough to stay out of sight behind the mirror and the setup was super simple. If you’re looking for something that just works and holds up well with tinted windows, it’s definitely worth checking out.
Using ddpai z50 pro , excellent 4k footage and cheap
