Top-tier video, reliable evidence, but app struggles.

Idk even remember how old my 1 is, but it’s going strong. Got the 2 as a rear for my truck, zero issues and my wife’s car has a 3 in the front and 2 for the rear, both within a year but never had an issue with Garmin yet.
Been using my Dash mini 1 for three years now in Australian weather, no issues.
Yes, ran the original Mini for years until the 2 came out....been running that since release and not one single issue. OP sounds like he has an issue with power supply.
About a mini 3 years ago. It didn't even last 6 months. Same issue.
It wasn't the mini 3. It was a 1 or 2. I don't know.
I use the Garmin mini dash cam (don’t remember exact name) and it works great too. Used it for multiple incidents and never had any issues. Doesn’t record when power is off however
You can easily run the 12v (cigarette outlet plug) to the back by tucking the cable under the window trim. Mine tucks in right above my rearview, and then runs all the way to the back. Takes 5 minutes! If the cam you buy doesn't have a long enough cable you may need to buy a separate one that's long enough, but I think my Garmin Mini came with a long enough cable.
