Garmin - Tandem

Whatever dash cam you choose, check the reviews on the App Store for iOS and Android. A lot of them SUCK. That being said, I’ve been using Garmin Tandem (double cams) and Garmin 56w for 3 years without any issues.

Sorry I’m just seeing this now. I have been using my Garmin Tandem for more than a couple of years and I think it’s worth every dollar. It can stay in the window in South Florida’s brutal summers and continue to work without any pause for overheating. Mine is usually plugged directly into my cigarette lighter socket usb where it cycles on and off with my the turn of my vehicle key. When I park at the supermarket or other crowded lots, I plug it into my portable usb charger to keep it running with the car off. The internally oriented camera does more than capture the driver and passengers if your window tint is not too dark. It will record through your side and rear windows any nearby activity too. With the touch of a button, you can direct the camera to save the last few minutes of activity to protect it from automatic overwriting. The camera is very small which makes it less noticeable and less obstructive since it is mounted on the windshield. That said, it lacks the screen that some people rely on to actively monitor the camera in real time. There is plenty of usb cable to route discretely around the windshield but I just let mine hang as I use my camera with two vehicles. Hope this helps.

I use a front and rear dash cam from Garmin. The app can splice together the footage from both cameras for a better perspective on the entire situation. Both camera power cords run to a Garmin switch which is powered by my cigarette lighter. It is the cheapest eye witness you can afford if something goes wrong - and maybe your only witness
