Ran an innovv k5 f&r on my Versys1k commuter for 4 years or so, it paid for itself when someone rolled backwards into me at a light. Worth it alone for the insurance adjuster's reaction... Got some great footage from rides as well! I recently upgraded to the N2 so now I have android auto on a glove friendly screen, plus 2x cameras. Very nice to not have to mount my phone to the bike! I liked the N2 so much I bought a 2nd one for my new K1600GTL...

INNOVV K5 at the moment. It’s pretty decent.

I have an INNOV K5. Works great when I am recording an uneventful ride. Got rear ended once (tapped into the middle of the intersection but no traffic coming thankfully) and found that 1 minute loop was corrupted. swapped out the memory card but havent had an event since. The video quality is great but just having that 1 blip makes me want a different cam system. Perma install though so prob not what your looking for unless you want one for each bike. The recordings track your GPS position and speed. The desktop apps will place your route on a map and show speed all along the route as well. usefull if something does happen and you were following the speed limits and want to prove it

I’ve been using Innovv cameras for years. Currently running their K5 on my K1600GT. Front and rear, the thing starts recording as soon as I start the engine. I have it configured to run in a five minute loop.

Get a dashcam system designed for motorcycles. Hooks up to your battery. Records when bike is on, stops when bike is off -- set and forget. If what you're after is documentation in case of a crash, an action cam isn't the way to go. You'll have to constantly mount it, charge it, manually turn it on and off, and erase footage when it's full. You won't keep that up consistently. Viofo and Innovv are the higher end motorcycle dashcams last I checked. I have a bad experience with an Innovv K5 a couple of years ago and switched to Viofo, but the K6 may be more reliable. Check reviews. There are less expensive brands, provided you're not particular about resolution. Just make sure you check independent reviews for reliability. That's the most important thing about a dashcam -- you want to trust it'll be there for you when shit happens.

I've got an Innovv K5. Great bit of kit.

This is the correct answer. A GoPro is a *terrible* dashcam. A dashcam is typically a terrible action camera. The use cases are just different. Dashcam: * Always there and always on. * No batteries to charge * no storage capacity to worry about. * Constant looping video * Bike powered, able to start and stopmwith the bike. * Can't forget it, forget to turn it on, have it just not turn on for some silly reason or turn itself off. * Fixed installation to (at least reasonably) hide it and prevent theft * Good enough video quality to identify license plates or at least reasonable identify vehicles + provide proof to insurance. Action Camera (ie GoPro, Insta360): * Varied, flexible easy mount changing, including helmet/torso/bike, often in.very visible locations * High quality, high framerate video prioritizing quality over capacity * Battery powered The action cameras feature set is often directly in opposition to what you want in a dashcam and vice versa. Innovv, as you linked, is king of motorcycle dash cams. There are inexpensive *decent* options available in your Chinese marketplace of choice (AliExpress, Amazon, etc) but frankly I'm they are very hot or miss and the better ones are not significantly cheaper than the known-good Innovv products. If you're already spending that much then, I'd argue you're way better off spending the extra ~$100 for known quality and reliability.

These days you're choosing between the K5, 6 and 7, but yeah. They're king of motorcycle dashcams. You really get what you pay for in this space.

Depends what type you want. Ive got an innov mounted camera that has 2 cameras, 1 facing forward and backwards.
