Momento - M8 Max (MD-8400)

Just put a Momento m8 max in my 22, pretty clean set up.

They're all about the same in terms of installation. But: 1. Some just come with a [cig lighter plug](https://www.scosche.com/hd-dvr-dash-cam-ddvrs0916g-sp?srsltid=AfmBOoowY4pLwlo5k1fh1I9-Dcl-YtfmvcS8TFhx6onTm6D2F3zTEds5uNs). Even a caveman could do it. #Geico 2. If you want a cleaner end-result, you'll hardwire power. Some will just accept 12V and ground, so you'll want to wire to 12V switched ignition power via a [fuse tap](https://www.amazon.com/Circuit-Adapter-Standard-Micro2-Profile/dp/B0D78D3V3R). 3. Slightly nicer ones have parking modes. They'll need 12V constant, 12V switched, and ground. Still, all wires run to the same spot. Not much more work. Bang for the buck, that's not a piece of crap, probably Viofo. If you want something higher-end, Momento MD-8400. And special feature shout-out to the DroneXC camera, as it allows realtime video streaming anywhere via 5G. Your car is in LA, you're in NY, and you could look at live video from your car. GPS tracks you too. Subscription required.

I went to both places recommended, and the first sent me to the second! 😉 I was very pleased with the Momento8 that they installed for a reasonable price, both front and rear. And once I actually read the manual, it synced the app with my phone seamlessly.

Momento M8, cartoys put it up behind the rearview mirror on the black dots, which is where the dealer told me to put it too. I like it because there is no screen, app is fairly good, you can view video and live stream, I got the rearview camera too.

I installed the Momento M8 in ‘22 LT1 which includes front and rear with the option to add third interior and it’s been fantastic as long as you do not require LTE access for live view away from vehicle when it doesn’t have a WiFi connection. 24/7 hardwire to fuse box parking mode recording and the radar sensor recording and built in eco battery drain protection works as intended. Quality even at Full HD is smooth.
