For some reason, he didn't test Nexar. My problem with all these Chinese brands and they never last. My Nexar, their first model, has been in my truck since 2019 and have been near faultless. They have models the same price as VIOFO. [https://www.getnexar.com/the-dash-cams/](https://www.getnexar.com/the-dash-cams/)

Nexar is actually a good one if you don’t use wireless CarPlay/AA. It maintains a WiFi connection with your phone and videos are stored there as well as the camera. Makes it easy to review the footage.

I like Nexar. Uniden r8 for the radar detector, you’re gonna want that too. With our cars it pays for itself after one use lol

Absolutely man! If you pull the trigger on the r8 I believe it’s on sale on Amazon for around $600 right now (the extra few hundred is worth it for the added range and arrow/multiple bogey features so you know what direction the radar is from and if there happens to be two cops driving half a mile apart, it’s a tactic they do so you think you passed the radar source but then there’s another), and you’ll want to download a companion app on your phone too so it can learn all the K-band along your usual routes and auto-mute them for you. On Apple it’s “r8 companion” on the App Store. As far as the dash cam Nexar has ones that also detect “movement” (aka someone hitting your car) and records that event even if you’re not driving.

VIOFO is one that a lot of people get and I've fitted one on another car our family has. I currently use Nexar but I'm also thinking about getting another VIOFO cam. Idk if VIOFO make dashcams using other sensors but just make sure you get one with the Sony sensor. Video quality is really good on all of their cams and there are plenty of videos showcasing the quality too. Just be aware (idk if this is for all dashcams), if you want to hardwire it to use the Parking Mode, you will have to purchase the hardware for that separately. When we bought everything it came up to £115 or £120?

I used Nexar for years. In multiple cars as well, I had bought it in 2018. Still holding up excellent but I wanted a higher quality video and a rear view as well so I just recently got REDTIGER. Check in with y’all in a few years haha

That’s what it took for me to get a dash cam. Getting hit from a person making a wrong turn and then lying about it to both of our insurance companies. Nexar one recorded front and cabin but you def need that rear one for more protection.

I’ve just got a cheap camera from nexar, it just shoots video while I drive nothing fancy but the shit I see out there on the roads daily here in NY requires me to have a dash cam or else I’d be at the mercy of liars and road raging assholes when shit does inevitable go down.

Nexar is an okay price point and quality. It's not the best but it's like $100 and easy to install, the clips download straight to your phone.

I’m gonna put my two cents in here I went through Garmin, Nexar , and Rove. But this is the best [https://a.co/d/aloq3x8](https://a.co/d/aloq3x8). It replaces your rear view mirror. https://preview.redd.it/ebirknkj21ee1.jpeg?width=2268&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fb99d5bab0e122dff7c30d8643eff51097a6b0fb

I used Nexar for several years, but changed to the Thinkware U3000 because is has front and rear cameras. There is also radar for when parked. You should also look into a separate hotspot so it can send alerts to your phone.
