My mother asked for a really good front and rear one for her birthday (lol, practical much?!) so after MUCH homework, she got this one: [https://www.halfords.ie/technology/dash-cams/nextbase-320xr%2B-front-and-rear-dash-cam-bundle-with-32gb-sd-card-508646.html](https://www.halfords.ie/technology/dash-cams/nextbase-320xr%2B-front-and-rear-dash-cam-bundle-with-32gb-sd-card-508646.html) Halfords installed it for an extra 50 quid I'm pretty sure. Very, very good!
I went with this one!
[Halfords Dash Cams](https://www.halfords.com/technology/dash-cams/?srule=price_increase_rule&start=24&sz=24) 39 results (so looking around result No.19). Sort by Price low to high. Result: [Nextbase 320XR+ Front and Rear Dash Cam Bundle with 32GB SD Card](https://www.halfords.com/technology/dash-cams/nextbase-320xrplus-front-and-rear-dash-cam-bundle-with-32gb-sd-card-508646.html?stockInventory=undefined&plpPlacement=21) Which is a model or two up from the 322GW I got for my dad for Christmas a couple of years ago (that he's perfectly happy with). So no, it's not "terrible advice" at all really - is it? Don't let that get in the way of your "comedic" reference to a show that ended 30 years ago though. "🤣"
I've have the nextbase 320xr in both my cars and have been happy with them. Come with both a front and rear camera. They offer a hardwire kit if you want it and it has a parking mode. Good timing looking for dashcams considering black friday is here
I put the Nextbase 320xr in both my cars and am quite happy with them. I think i got one from best buy and one from amazon. It does everything I need it to: record in front of and behind me. The cameras attaching to the mounts with magnets is convenient so I can just pop them off when I want to
Also got one of these from Halfords and this week saved my bacon.. follow the link to see the quality [nextbase 320Xr](https://www.reddit.com/r/irelandsshitedrivers/s/eWwP7ekFQq)
I can recommend nextbase, if you need a budget one, Best But usually has the 320XR in stock. I have that one in my ES, it’s proven me not liable in two separate accidents (one was a parked collision). If it’s good enough to prove I wasn’t at fault even at night where cameras can have a harder time showing a clear picture, it’s good enough for me to recommend to others. I will say this, since you are in Texas, if you do decide to go with a 320XR, order the suction mount online because the sticky tape version is not going to hold up in the heat at all. Also park under shade if possible.
I've had cheap dashcams and been failed by them. I always go for Nextbase now. there is a Nextbase refurbished shop on Ebay which has some bargains. [https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/nextbaseofficalstore](https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/nextbaseofficalstore) Make sure you buy a video capable microSD card
I got a basic nextbase 320XR from Halfords last year. It seems fine. I've taken footage off it a couple of times. If you are going to do it you might as well get front and rear cameras. I installed it myself but I didn't wire it up to the battery. I just use the cigarette lighter. I just make sure to turn it off after every drive. I think a dashcam is a no brainer these days.
