r/DashcamThe dash cam market is over saturated, so I have no idea where to start as far as brands. Suggestions?

I've used azdome cams off amazon that cost under £100 for a 2 channel cam with a hardwire kit. Records in 1080p and was a very good cam with easy to use app. Nowadays, i use a nextbase 380gwx that came already installed when I bought my current car. These cams cost £380 and I'd say the picture quality is no better than the azdome one. So I'd recommend azdome all day long as the quality is just as good as more expensive cams for a fraction of the price.

r/DashcamAny dashcams with a short term backup battery?

You can buy hatdwaire kits with a battery backup that should work with anything. I have a nextbase 380gwx that you can buy a battery backup for.

I have a Nextbase 380GWX which is OE fitted in a Toyota and still receives updates. Aside from having no screen which is awkward, it’s okay. Doesn’t do picture snapshots, not that you can use those anyway. I previously had the model you had or similar, I’m thinking 622, in a car that predates dashcams and it was shite.

Had a nextbase 380 gwx fitted when I brought a new car. It was “free” but still feel I overpaid. When I get around to it I will be replacing with a blackvue 970. Quality of recording is ok, but actually trying to connect to get anything off is a pita it’s easier to pull the sd card and grab the file as it usually takes around 5 minutes to get a stable connection and transfer a 1 minute file

Lucky cabbie placement…! Crash isn’t so lucky, obviously, hope you’re doing okay now. I have the Nextbase 380GWX (front and rear). Can’t fault it! 50/50 claim is madness. Without the right arrow they clearly needed to give way, but I guess to those distracted or not paying full attention ‘green unquestioningly means go’. Also, is that Frodsham high street?

Does it have to be plugged in all the time? Just thinking of getting one for the rear window as my nextbase duel camera doesn’t get a good enough view out the back

r/dashcamsDashcam noob here, what's worth paying for?

Front and rear is the only option. Had someone drive into the back of my car, admit fault to me and then told their insurance company I reversed into them. asked his insurance company if they wanted to see the rear dascam footage I had (I didn't tell him I had it) and they promptly paid up and told me he would be blacklisted for making false statements. Got a RoadAngel in my new car but after two months have had that changed as it just drained the battery and now got a Nextbase front and rear camera after advice from multiple people.

We've had Nextbase front and rear for about 5 years now, no issues. Just remember to reformat the SD card occasionally.

Had a nextbase front and rear installed at Halfords, had no issues whatsoever. I also advise to get the hardwire kit, its £25£, and it connects directly to the fuse box instead of the 12v Socket, in case you need it. In my case, the 12V socket is used for my coolboxes, i didn't want to be disconnecting the camera when i need to use them. Think in total was about £250, i bought the kit on offer with a good discount. The installation was done properly and the panels were all lined up properly afterwards.

r/rav4clubWhich dash cam do you use for your Rav4?

Toyota branded Nextbase unit, installed by dealer. Quality is only average but the install is very neat (no visible wires at all) and the camera easily clips in and out. There's a Toyota Dashcam app to view it or you can take out the SD card or the whole camera and connect to pc.
