I live in an extremely hot area so I always take it down if I'm not driving. I also like the cabin camera bc no one can accuse you of being on your phone or otherwise distracted 😎 I think you'd need a different wiring kit in order to have it record when parked and not running, though. I can't speak to that. For others reading the thread - if not hardwiring this needs to be plugged into the outlet in the trunk. Can confirm that all cables reach where they need to with a good amount of slack to work with. Edit: Also wanted to add that it's super easy to review and retrieve footage. I'm always grabbing clips of the goofy stuff people do on the road.
